Garra Rufa Therapy

Garra Rufa is the Latin term for Doctor Fish, a fish which grows up to 14 cm long and belongs to the carp family. Their habitat is the warm, extremely nutrient deficient water of the Kangal region in Turkey. Their main food source is dead human skin flakes. Furthermore their saliva contains a discharge which has a particularly positive effect on skin diseases. Therefore the fish are often used in treating dead skin, neurodermatitis and other skin diseases.
