Quiet, environmentally-friendly Ayurveda resort directly on the sea with private beach and nestled in flora and fauna. Special rooms for Ayurveda guests, European management, family-run.
In the midst of approx. 5 hectares of enchanting flora and fauna, directly on the 200 m wide private bay (sandy beach seasonal), lies the idyllic and quiet complex of the Ypsylon Resort. The deliberately flat construction blends perfectly into the landscape. The family-run Ypsylon with seasonally open diving school is also very committed to environmental protection. Self-sufficiency, waste separation/recycling, energy generation/saving and resource recovery are the focus of a specially established "environmental zone" not far from the resort. These measures are unique in Sri Lanka and are favorably supported by the state.
Beruwela is one of the oldest cities on the west coast of Sri Lanka, with a lighthouse built by the colonial powers on a small island in front of the port. The reef emerging from it protects the kilometre long sandy beach up to the Bentota river.
Next to the Ayurveda Centre, exclusively reserved for Ayurveda guests, is the Ayurveda Pavilion with open buffet. The day starts with a "Nature Smile Smoothie", at noon and in the evening traditional Ayurvedic food, varied, low calorie, vegetarian, mixed with local side dishes is served. Lean white fish or chicken on request.
An à-la-carte restaurant with national and international dishes is located in the front part of the complex. Many herbs and ingredients come from our own cultivation.
In the garden area under the guidance of experienced Ayurveda doctors. Trained team of therapists, several treatment rooms for Shirodhara, oil massages, baths, acupuncture, Ayurvedic steam bath, herbal sauna. Accompanying yoga, meditation on request (approx. € 10/hour). Even hand-made natural medicine based on herbs according to traditional Ayurvedic recipes.

The treatments were very good. We also found the food very good, even if the choice was limited. We were very well rested after the vacation and still are. Price-performance ratio is good. The very good doctor makes up for a lot.

This was my second time at the resort. I liked it again, but this time it was very restless due to the fully booked resort and the frequent changes of guests, especially at mealtimes
