The Falkensteiner Spa Resort Marienbad combines a history-rich past with modern elegance. It consists of four interconnected buildings. The main building, Pelnar, built in Art Nouveau style in 1875, features a foyer, lobby bar, library, large sun terrace.
Location & Surroundings
Marienbad - world-famous like many of its guests - from Franz Kafka to Johann Wolfgang von Goethe to Emperor Franz Joseph. This traditional spa town in a mild, south-facing valley was founded in 1818 by Karl Kaspar Reitenberger, the abbot of the Tepla Abbey, and is rich in mineral springs, natural gases, and peat. The clean air, abundant forests, and pleasant altitude create optimal conditions for a therapy and relaxation stay.

At Falkensteiner Spa Resort Marienbad, a holistic approach to health preservation is pursued, focusing on the highest quality in the kitchen regarding regionality, naturalness, quality standards, and gentle preparation methods. Falkensteiner Balance Vital Full Board: extensive breakfast buffet with diet corner, Sunday breakfast until 11 a.m., Good4U lunch with soups, salad buffet, a vegetarian dish, pastries, and fresh fruit, evening 5-course choice menu.

The Library Bar meets the culinary standards and offers delicious tapas and afternoon tea with small desserts. Indulge yourself in the Acquapura Spa, spanning approximately 2,500 sqm (open daily 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.) - an extensive pool and sauna area with 4 pools (heated 2 indoor and 1 outdoor pool, saltwater pool, therapy pool) and 4 saunas (steam bath, Finnish and bio-sauna, infrared cabin). Private Spa Suite. Sun terrace. Gymnastics room, cardio fitness room with original Precor® equipment.
BEAUTY (open daily) with soothing massages, refreshing beauty treatments, baths and therapeutic applications – tailored just for you. Pedicure, cosmetics and wellness for face and body with products from Pharmos and Phytomer.
Health & Treatments
(daily 8 a.m.-6 p.m.) with medical supervision. Classic therapy services include: dry CO2 bath, oxygen therapy, whirlpool bath, Lymfoven, mud pack, massages, electrotherapy and physiotherapy, moor and mineral bath, lymphatic drainage, connective tissue massage, magnetic field therapy, gas injection, inhalation, ultrasound, shortwave diathermy, Lavatherm, aqua gym, spine and exercise ball gymnastics. Drinking therapy with the hotel's own healing spring Alexandra. Additional charges apply for: Aslan therapy, body wraps on a floating bed. Weekly health courses (some at an additional cost).
Indications: diseases of the musculoskeletal system, respiratory tract, peripheral nervous system (polyneuropathy), kidney diseases, diabetes, arteriosclerosis of the small blood vessels (microangiopathy).
Contraindications: acute and infectious diseases, malignant tumours during and after treatment with clinically detectable signs of disease progression, pregnancy, alcohol dependency, dependency on addictive substances, non-healing skin defects, inability to care for oneself and perform daily activities without the help of others, and inability to walk independently.
Natural Marienbad Remedies:
Mineral Water - In the town of Marienbad, 40 different mineral water springs emerge, with 100 more in the immediate vicinity. These are cold acidulous waters with temperatures between 7 and 10 degrees Celsius. The occurrence of such a high number of springs with different compositions and various therapeutic effects is a balneological rarity. As natural remedies, these springs are state-protected and monitored. Applications: mineral baths, inhalation, drinking therapy.
Moor - The natural moor from the region is rich in minerals and is used in the form of packs or moor baths - often as an ideal preparation for massages. Thanks to its long-lasting warmth, the moor has a soothing and healing effect on tension, inflammation, and strain. Applications: natural moor pack partial or full body, optional with colloidal silver, fango, Lavatherm, moor bath- optional with colloidal silver.
Carbon Dioxide Healing Gas - In addition to the variety of water sources, Marienbad also has a dry source. It is a strong gas effusion that dissolves secondarily in surface water and is named Maria Spring. The CO2 gas from Maria Spring is of volcanic origin and 99.47% pure. It is used for special dry baths and injections. These cause vasodilation, stimulating circulation, lowering blood pressure, and activating metabolism. Applications: dry CO2 bath, subcutaneous CO2 injections, Pneumopuncture - a combination of CO2 injection and therapeutic massage.
Free Time
Varied evening program (musical entertainment, lecture about Marienbad). For a fee: E-bike rental, excursions to Tepla Monastery, etc. Culture, Sports & Leisure: Annually in August, the Chopin Festival. Operettas, concerts delight throughout the year. Beautiful spa park, a gem of garden architecture with a Neo-Baroque colonnade and Singing Fountain - a visual and musical delight, dance evenings. Own tennis courts in the forest park, ski area, cross-country skiing. 18-hole Royal Golf Club Marienbad about 3 km away.

We stayed at the Falkensteiner Hotel and Spa in Mariánské Lázně for 7 nights, had 12 therapeutic treatments and felt really well rested. The incredibly courteous service and the food, where my lactose intolerance was always taken into consideration, were particularly noteworthy. We would go there again at any time.
