Location & Surroundings
Marienbad – as world-famous as many of its guests - from Franz Kafka to Johann Wolfgang von Goethe to Emperor Franz Joseph. The traditional spa town in a south-facing valley with a mild climate was founded in 1818 by Karl Kaspar Reitenberger, the abbot of the Tepla Abbey, and is rich in mineral springs, natural gases, and peat. The clean air, many forests, and a pleasant altitude create optimal conditions for a spa and relaxation stay.

Hotel restaurant with summer terrace and beautiful views of the spa colonnade. Bohemian and international specialties, all meals buffet style, light cuisine at lunch with soups, salads, and fruit. Diet, lactose-free or gluten-free meals available on request. Café with dance events, lobby bar.

On-site spa department (Mon.-Fri. from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) with a doctor and 30 different treatments such as massages (partial, full-body, hydro, reflex, medical), lymphatic drainage, electrotherapy, magnetotherapy, thermotherapy, medical baths, natural gas packs/injections, water aerobics, peat wraps. Hot stone, chocolate, and honey massages, drinking therapy. Please bring any existing medical reports.
Indications: Diseases of the musculoskeletal system, peripheral nervous system (polyneuropathy), respiratory tract, kidney diseases, urinary tract, gynaecological diseases, diabetes, obesity, arteriosclerosis of the small blood vessels (microangiopathy), coronary heart disease, and circulatory disorders.
Contraindications: acute and infectious diseases, malignant tumours during and after treatment with clinically detectable signs of disease progression, pregnancy, alcohol dependence, dependence on addictive substances, non-healing skin defects, inability to care for oneself and perform daily activities without the help of others, as well as inability to walk independently, urinary and faecal incontinence.
Free Time
Attractive excursion options to the castles of Königswart and Petschau, to the historic city of Eger, and to the spa towns of Franzensbad and Karlsbad are offered locally. GOLF 8-hole Royal Golf Club Marienbad, approx. 2 km away.

Overall, it was a very relaxing vacation in a beautiful place. The fact that a Flixbus was used in Germany with another bus change on the return journey in the evening is not ideal, especially for the mostly older guests. The stop for lunch and subsequent bus change at the turnstile in Thiersheim /Selp is also not very hospitable and stressful for the older participants. The service provided by the travel provider "fitreisen" was hospitable and professional. many thanks for that. best regards Kerstin Zacharias
