"Balm for the Soul" - Experience authentic Ayurveda, relaxation, and rejuvenation against the unique backdrop of the Himalayas, ideally combined with an exotic tour beforehand.
The snow-capped mountain scenery with the world's highest peaks, lush vegetation, rice fields, and crystal-clear rivers create the unique setting of The Begnas Lake Resort & Villas in a tranquil location at the foot of the Annapurna Massif. The soothing Ayurveda treatments, the mild high-altitude climate (about 800 m), and the location on the wooded hill on the south shore of Begnas Lake are ideal for rejuvenation. The non-smoking resort is accessible from Begnas Bazaar by a romantic boat transfer, or alternatively from Pokhara (about 15 km) by all-terrain vehicle in uncertain weather conditions (due to the hillside location). Prior to your stay, you have the opportunity to embark on a wonderful tour through beautiful Nepal (5 days/4 nights, direct link below).
The "Jimire" restaurant with sun terrace serves typical local, Indian, and international dishes (predominantly vegetarian) as well as personalised Ayurvedic meals recommended by the Ayurveda doctor à la carte. The ingredients are mostly from our own organic cultivation, our own fish farming, or from organic farmers in the vicinity. Lactose-free, gluten-free, and vegan options are also available. In addition to the restaurant, there is a bar and a pool bar.
The professional Ayurveda experts, including an Ayurveda doctor from Kerala and Nepal, as well as several therapists with years of experience, offer you classic Indian Ayurveda refined with alternative Nepalese elements in the heated treatment rooms. The Ayurvedic remedies are mostly sourced from the resort's garden or the surrounding area.
Daily, two yoga sessions are conducted by the hotel's own yoga teachers, trained in Patanjali and Hatha Yoga. Additionally, yoga retreats with esteemed external yoga teachers are offered. The programme is completed by meditation sessions in the "Silent Zone".
The resort features a rock pool on the slope with spring water and no chemical additives. Enjoy and relax on the sun terrace. The numerous excursion options, such as the Shaman Institute in Kathmandu or the many monasteries in the vicinity, look forward to your visit. Nearby, Phewa Lake in Pokhara invites you for a stroll. Hiking at the foot of Annapurna for a breathtaking Himalayan view. Begaskot, a mountain viewpoint about 1.2 miles from the accommodation, is definitely worth a visit.
Activities such as ultralight aircraft flights, paragliding, guided mountain bike tours, rafting, kayaking, and canyoning are available both as day trips and multi-day excursions and can be booked on site.
The resort offers 42 rooms to western standards, each with a balcony/veranda featuring panoramic views, shower/WC, hairdryer, telephone, minibar, kettle, tea set, ceiling fan, air conditioning, cable TV, Wi-Fi, and a heating device upon request. There are 28 superior rooms (approx. 312 sq ft) in two-storey cottages with 4 units each, built in traditional style using natural materials such as stone, teak, and bamboo. The upper rooms are easily accessible via an external staircase. 4 waterfront cottages (approx. 194 sq ft) are located near the lake shore with large glass doors and lake views. 8 premier rooms (approx. 366 sq ft) with large windows and glass doors, and 2 luxury suites (approx. 646 sq ft) near the pool, standalone, with living and sleeping areas complete the offerings. A safe and internet are available at the reception. Single rooms are double rooms for single use.
