Perched on a cliff, the luxurious Raviz Group's The Leela Kovalam, a Raviz Hotel, offers a stunning panoramic view over Kovalam Beach in the southern state of Kerala. The property also houses the Kovalam Palace, the official state guest house of the Government of Kerala for state visits.

Dining & Leisure

"The Terrace" (open 24 hours) offers the finest from Asian, European, or Indian cuisine (buffet) with a unique sea view. For Ayurveda guests, meals are individually served according to their dosha, prepared with international flair but based on Ayurvedic principles. At the open beach restaurant "The Tides", fresh seafood specialties are grilled to perfection. Additionally, "The Sky Bar" and "The Bar" provide relaxing spaces to unwind.

Ayurveda Center

The approximately 700 sqm Favorite Kerala Ayurveda & Spa is managed by several doctors (including Ayurveda), supported by a professional team of therapists. It is awarded the Green Leaf Award by the Department of Tourism of Kerala, the highest accolade for authentic Ayurveda. Treatments are prescribed by the Ayurveda doctor based on focus and constitution, such as Udvartana powder massage, Pinda Sveda herbal poultice massage, Shirodhara oil forehead flow, Abhyanga or Pizhichil massage, Mukhalepam facial care, and Njavarakizhi rice bag massage. Herbs are sourced from the hotel's own organic greenhouse, and treatments are conducted in renovated and newly equipped consultation and treatment rooms (indoor and outdoor). Furthermore, a gym, yoga and meditation centre with various platforms and rooms, and a beauty salon are available.

Free Time

The "Chenot Palace Weggis" features two infinity pools with breathtaking sea views. Additional leisure activities such as archery, badminton, tennis, table tennis, and billiards are available. For those wishing to explore the surroundings, a variety of excursion options around Kovalam are offered.

The hotel features 187 spacious, elegant rooms with bathroom/shower/WC, hairdryer, safe, satellite TV, telephone, minibar, coffee/tea set, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi. There are rooms with premium sea view (approx. 46 sqm) with a balcony on the cliffs or with a view to the beach, Club rooms (recommended for Ayurveda guests) and suites on the cliff edge with sea view in the exclusive Club wing. These rooms offer Butler service, a separate lounge, Club Spa and pool, "The Café", and a library. The garden view and sea view rooms (approx. 44 sqm) are located a bit away from the main building near a mosque and a temple. Single rooms are double rooms for single use.

Great hotel with excellent spa

The 5-star hotel is set in large gardens above a cliff right by the sea. The view is stunning. Be sure to book The Club (the Club rooms)! The spa is excellent. It is approx. 800 m from the hotel. If you don't want to walk, you can take a golf cart. The massages are absolutely professional. There is yoga every morning at 8.00 am and meditation every evening. If you book the Ayurveda program, you get full board at the hotel. However, it was not particularly varied and sometimes took a lot of effort. After we intervened, we were given a salad and vegetables. In general, it is important to say what you would like differently. For example, we moved twice in the hotel before we had the room we wanted (frontal sea view and a balcony that wasn't tied up with cords against the birds). The staff are, without exception, extremely friendly and helpful and make everything possible. Even an extra portion of ice cream outside the diet plan ;-)

We've stayed in some top hotels before - but the Leela Kovalam has set new standards in terms of service and friendliness. The team in "The Cafe" and "Spa" in particular were so incredibly friendly and attentive that it was very difficult for us to say goodbye.

If I could, I would give 10 stars! The location and the entire resort are gorgeous. The staff from the maid to the security to the entire management is just adorable! I have never felt so well taken care of as in this resort! As a woman alone also no problem at all! The entire spa area as well as the treatments themselves, simply indescribable...my therapists, Shinu and Aswathi have been simply great! I have never had such a great skin picture and such a good success in losing weight, just unique. The prices are rather high level and correspond to our 5 star hotels. But since every wish is read from your eyes, you can invest a little more in yourself! The rooms are spacious with large balconies and large bathrooms! For us, the food was really very good but if you are very set on European cuisine, with barbecue or baked meat, then it's rather difficult...my husband would suffer😂also dream vacation with 10 stars

The recovery set in very quickly due to the really exceptionally good treatments and the private yoga lessons. Everyone was very accommodating and friendly and created a great feel-good atmosphere with their manner.
