During the yoga retreat, you will practice daily standing, sitting, inverted, and restorative positions. Typical Iyengar method aids such as blocks, straps, cushions, weights, or chairs enable students of different abilities to practice safely and correctly. Each student will work according to their own abilities under precise instructions. You can establish a solid foundation for your own practice. The courses are suitable for both beginners and advanced practitioners.

Santa Maria di Leuca is located at the southernmost tip of the Salento peninsula (the heel of Italy), where the waters of the Adriatic Sea merge with those of the Ionian Sea. Leuca has all the necessary qualities for a relaxing Mediterranean holiday. The name of the town comes from the Greek Leukos, meaning light or bright. In the lively centre of the small town, there are shops, restaurants, bars, and banks.

After the morning classes, there will be brunch 5 times in the dining hall of the property, prepared by the monastery staff in typical Salentine style. On the day of arrival and the day before departure, there will also be an organised dinner. The food is vegetarian, seasonal, and authentically prepared. Please let us know if you require a special diet.

Karin Montali was born and raised in Hamburg. She was awarded the Iyengar Yoga teacher certificate in 2001 by the British Iyengar Yoga Association (IYA UK). Since 2002, she has been teaching yoga in Italy and across Europe. Her students, who come from all over the world, are enthusiastic about her classes. In 2004, Karin had the unique opportunity to practice directly with the Iyengar family in Pune, India. She regularly qualifies herself further by participating in advanced training with renowned senior Iyengar yoga teachers.
