Experience authentic Ayurveda by Indian specialists and therapists, combined with the warmth and culinary delights of Styria in a family-like atmosphere.
Surrounded by a magical landscape of vineyards, sparkling rivers, and quaint villages, the Ayurveda Resort Mandira is nestled in the heart of the Styrian Volcanic region. The resort excels with its innovative Ayurveda & Beyond concept: customised therapies, modern Western medicine, and traditional Ayurvedic healing power combine to form a unique health approach for sustainable health and holistic well-being. Professional expertise and years of experience are at the forefront of this family-run resort, aiming to identify individual weaknesses and address them with both conventional and complementary medical treatments. The hotel's own medicinal thermal water is used for alleviating ailments, preventive health care, and regeneration. The healing properties of the thermal water perfectly complement the Ayurvedic treatments offered at the Ayurveda Center.
Bad Waltersdorf, nestled in the heart of Eastern Styria's thermal and volcanic region, ranks among Austria's most favoured spa and wellness destinations. This charming location is celebrated for its therapeutic thermal waters, which emerge from depths exceeding 1,200 meters, and for its natural relaxation amidst gentle hills, vineyards, and orchards. In addition to modern spa and health offerings, the region provides ample opportunities for hiking, cycling, and culinary explorations. Cultural attractions, picturesque villages, and proximity to Graz make Bad Waltersdorf an ideal spot for relaxation and unwinding.
The vegetarian meals at Mandira adhere to the principles of Ayurvedic nutrition, tailored to the Doshas – Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Each dish is freshly and gently prepared to enhance digestion and boost well-being. Seasonal, local, and mostly organic ingredients ensure tasty, nourishing, and easily digestible meals. Ayurveda guests enjoy a personalised Ayurvedic vegetarian full board, aligned with their therapy program – whether it's Mandira-Ayurveda, Ayur-Detox, Rasa & Yana, or Panchakarma diet. The offerings include a diverse breakfast buffet with organic juice, herbal, and vegetable bars, a light vegetarian 2-course lunch with a salad buffet, sweet tea pastries in the afternoon, and a 4-course evening menu – optionally vegan, vegetarian, or with fish. For those who consciously enjoy meat, the Mandira à la carte menu features selected regional products (at an additional cost). Lactose-free and gluten-free meals, as well as special diets, are available upon request. Additionally, the resort boasts a cosy hotel bar and lounge with an art gallery, and Ganesha's Garden with a tea house.
The Thermal SPA spans approximately 2000 sqm and features an indoor pool with medicinal thermal water (about 32°C), a panoramic pool (about 32°C), an outdoor pool (year-round, 28°C) with loungers, a solarium, and a cardio fitness room. Various therapies and wellness treatments can be booked on site, such as classic and Far Eastern massages (partial or full body, hot stone, or aromatic oil massage, reflexology. Lymphatic drainage, energy balancing massage), wraps, cosmetic treatments with Phyto5 products, as well as vital field measurement and infusion therapy. The medicinal water (sodium bicarbonate chloride spa; 27 to 36°C) is particularly soothing for rheumatic complaints and aids in stress reduction and burnout prevention.
