In the quiet, northern tip of Koh Samui lies the charming fishing village of Bophut, which, as part of the island's oldest settlements with wooden houses, has a special character. At Bophut Beach, a roughly 2 km long sandy beach leading to the Big Buddha, there are opportunities for swimming and various water sports.
