Experience authentic Ayurveda at the newly renovated and rebranded Roman Life Ayurveda Resort, situated directly on the beach. Here, you have the opportunity to unwind and focus entirely on yourself.
The Roman Life Ayurveda Resort, now under new management, is beautifully situated by the sea on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, in the traditional fishing village of Talpitiya near Wadduwa. In 2022, the Ayurveda Resort was acquired by the owner of its sister hotel, Roman Lake Ayurveda Resort, and subsequently underwent extensive and loving renovations. Following major refurbishments including the pool, rooms, and kitchen, this renowned resort now shines in new splendour and has been welcoming Ayurveda guests and their travel companions with open arms since February 2023.
Talapitya is a quaint, idyllic location in Sri Lanka, renowned for its tranquil rural setting and natural beauty. Surrounded by lush rice fields, palm groves, and dense vegetation, Talapitya offers a peaceful and restorative atmosphere, far removed from the hustle and bustle of city life. The region is deeply influenced by traditional Sri Lankan culture, reflected in local customs and architecture. Here, visitors can experience authentic country living, nestled in a picturesque landscape perfect for relaxation and unwinding.
Enjoy the Ayurvedic cuisine in the intimate restaurant adorned with wood panelling. Depending on the hotel's occupancy and the season, meals suitable for your doshas are either served at your table or presented buffet-style. Signs at the buffet dishes indicate which foods are appropriate for your dosha. Should you have any questions, an Ayurveda doctor or the hotel staff will be happy to assist. The tea corner by the pool is a perfect spot for relaxation and unwinding.
In nine treatment rooms, a team of two Ayurveda doctors and several experienced Ayurveda therapists ensure the well-being of guests. The herbal bath area, designed in granite look with a babbling brook, provides relaxing moments. Daily yoga sessions complement the therapy. German translation during consultations is available upon request.
The elaborately redesigned infinity outdoor pool with Jacuzzi bench, the hydrotherapy pool, and the garden, with loungers under shade-providing palms, invite you to relax. The resort offers direct access to the beach, which is ideal for extended walks. Swimming is possible depending on the season and weather. The Roman Life team is happy to assist you with planning excursions.
The resort boasts a total of 21 stylish rooms, all fully furnished with new, high-quality furniture. 19 of the rooms are located in the main building and some offer partial sea views, while two more luxurious rooms are situated in the pool house. Wi-Fi is available in the rooms and public areas.

Although it was the rainy season and low season, it was great to stay and enjoy the time, there were always sunny spells, the resort was well maintained, the staff from reception to housekeeping, restaurant to doctors, masseurs and yoga teachers were all great. There were little extras offered every day, the aqua aerobics were great - the food was top, of course Aryuvedic, but very varied. The house is small, so the atmosphere is very informal. I am completely satisfied!

The very dedicated employees of the resort, which is not modern but well maintained, made our stay there a particularly pleasant experience. The highlight of the joint New Year's celebration with rituals, games and specialties was the icing on the cake.

The treatments were first class - this was my 4th Ayurveda retreat, but the first at this hotel. The care provided by Dr. Nihal was excellent and took place daily. The only downside was that I was accommodated in a room on the ground floor, where there was hardly any daylight even at midday. After a week, I was able to move to a brighter room. The food was tasty, but not very varied (probably due to the low season). Swimming in the sea is not advisable as the current is very strong. The beach is also not an inviting place to linger, as it is very dirty (fishermen, herd of cows, plastic waste).
