The aim of the study, which was conducted under the direction of the Centre for Rheumatic Diseases in Poona (India), was to show that two Ayurvedic medications standardized in India(SGCG and SGC) are in no way inferior to treatment with glucosamines and celecoxib (NSAID) in terms of efficacy.
440 patients took part in this medication study for 6 months . It was found that the Ayurvedic preparations (especially SGCG) were able to significantly relieve knee pain and improve knee function and were as effective as glucosamine and celecoxib.
