The study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of Ayurvedic treatment of Urdhwaga Amlapitta, a disorder characterized by upward acidity in the digestive system. Dyspepsia (Amlapitta) is considered a common ailment due to inappropriate diet and lifestyle leading to an imbalance of Pitta . The study involved 30 people who were given various Herbo mineral preparations tailored to their psychosomatic constitution (Prakriti). Symptoms were assessed weekly for 28 days. The results showed a significant improvement in symptoms, with acid regurgitation and abdominal heaviness being the most commonly reported symptoms. By the third week, all participants experienced relief and the difference in symptom severity was statistically significant. The participants agreed to continue the Ayurveda treatment in the future. The study concludes that the Ayurveda treatment effectively cured Urdhwaga Amlapitta within the 28-day treatment period, and the medication was well tolerated, safe and acceptable.
