Stress / Exhaustion
The 2018 article discusses the significant impact of stress on women's reproductive health, leading to the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and oxidative stress (OS). Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus), commonly recommended in Ayurvedic medicine, is proposed as a solution for stress-related reproductive health disorders in women. While shatavari is known for its health benefits and its use in the treatment of reproductive disorders , its mechanism of action at the ovarian level is not well understood. Based on studies conducted to date, the review article suggests that shatavari may improve hormonal balance, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), follicular growth, egg quality and infertility by lowering OS levels and increasing antioxidants in the body. Further research is needed to fully understand how shatavari affects ovarian function and reproductive health in women.
