Lithuanian researchers Rapolienė, Razbadauskas and Jurgelėnas conducted a randomized clinical trial on the effects of thermal water .

The sample of 130 seafarers was divided into a balneotherapy group and a control group. The former received a two-week treatment with 108g/l of concentrated mineral water.

After two weeks, a positive effect on the well-being of the test subjects was observed, stress symptoms occurred 60% less, while their intensity was reduced by 41% and their control improved by 32% . The health risks caused by stress and the general health risk decreased, while the available resources increased.

In summary, it can be concluded that balneotherapy with mineral-containing thermal water alleviates stress and improves health. This makes the treatment particularly suitable as a preventative treatment.
