The review article discusses the therapeutic benefits of Yoga Nidra (YN) in the treatment of mental disorders. Drawing from Indian philosophy and the experiences of sages and yogis, YN is described as a simple yet effective method for treating various mental disorders. YN has been reported to alleviate the symptoms of anxiety, anger, depression, PTSD and other psychophysiological abnormalities.
YN not only serves as an intervention tool, but also promotes relaxation, mental catharsis and a positive attitude, while improving concentration, memory and cognitive abilities. Therefore, YN is increasingly used as a therapy and medical intervention to improve psychological well-being and mental health, enhance cognitive abilities and promote self-connectedness.
