The highlight of Montanejos are the natural thermal pools, the Fuentes de los Baños, fed by a natural thermal spring. They are located in the riverbed of the Mijares. Reservoirs in the upper part of the river prevent the warm thermal water from mixing with the cooler water of the Mijares. This makes the thermal stream a fascinating natural wonder, stretching about a kilometre through the landscape. At the bathing spot of the Fuentes de los Baños, limestone cliffs rise about 15 metres into the air, making this place a unique and spectacular retreat for relaxation. The water maintains a pleasant temperature of about 25°C all year round.
