☀ Druskininkai by Lake Druskonis is located in the south of Lithuania, close to the borders with Poland and Belarus. The area rich in rivers and lakes can be explored by paddle boat, canoe or on a ferry. The National Park Dzukija offers many walking trails. In the old town, you can find wooden villas from the time when the town was founded. Since 1837 Druskininkai has been recognised as a spa resort. 12 mineral sources are used for baths and drinking cures. The waters contain copper, magnesium, lithium, iron, bromine, iodine, calcium, natrium chloride and other minerals. Other factors which enhance the treatments are the iodine-rich air, the mild, warm microclimate and peat mud.
