In this randomized controlled study by Mersin University with a pretest-posttest design, a total of 97 female students were examined, 50 of whom were in the intervention group and 47 in the control group.
Massage and progressive relaxation exercises are easy-to-use self-help methods that have no side effects and have a positive effect on pain, sweating, fatigue and gastrointestinal and central nervous system symptoms.
It can therefore be assumed that the combined treatment of massage and progressive relaxation is more effective in relieving menstrual symptoms than the individual treatments.
