Oat Flake – Walnut Christmas Cookies
Deliciously moist inside, nutty, crunchy outside and – if you like – topped with chocolate: Our oat-walnut cookies are the perfect Christmas treat for everyone and they are superfast to bake.
- 50 g flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 package vanilla sugar
- 100 g sugar
- 1 egg
- 125 g butter
- 100 g walnuts, ground
- 150 g oat flakes
- 125 g melted chocolate or cake glaze
Preheat the oven to 180 °C (fan oven: 160°C). Sieve the flour with baking powder, add sugar, vanilla sugar, egg, chopped butter and knead it into smooth dough. By the end add the oat flakes and walnuts. Use two teaspoons to form walnut-large heaps on the baking paper. Leave some space between them. Bake for 10-15 min. Take the cookies out and let them cool. In the meantime, melt the chocolate/glaze. Dip the cookies in the chocolate or decorate them and let them dry.
