Experience authentic Ayurveda surrounded by the beautiful nature of Sri Lanka at Lawrence Ayurveda Paradise.
Located in Hikkaduwa on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, about 10 miles from Galle, Lawrence Ayurveda Paradise is nestled in a dreamy palm and flower garden spanning approximately 2.5 acres. It is a quiet, privately managed family hotel under German management, situated on a small hill, about 820 feet from the beach. Hikkaduwa's beaches are among the most popular in the country.
Adjacent to the Ayurveda Center and right by the pool, nestled within the lush green garden, you'll find the open-air restaurant. Here, you can savour the freshly prepared Ayurvedic buffet. All dishes are made predominantly from regional ingredients and are prepared according to dosha. Chicken or white fish are also offered on occasion. Upon request, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, low-salt, sugar-free, and lactose-free dishes are available. The tea room, equipped with hot and cold water dispensers and dosha-appropriate tea, offers Wi-Fi. In line with Ayurvedic dietary principles, no alcohol, coffee, or soft drinks are served.
Nestled within the expansive garden, the Ayurveda Center boasts 16 treatment rooms and a team comprising 2 Ayurvedic doctors and qualified therapists. It stands out as one of the few Ayurveda Centers in Sri Lanka with a certified Ayurveda pharmacy and production facility. The personalized Ayurvedic treatments include, for example, head, face, body, and foot massages with herbal oil, milk rice poultice massage (Navara Kizhi), Shirodhara oil forehead flow, Ayurvedic herbal and steam baths. Inhalations as well as Abhyanga massages and Panchakarma cleansing techniques are also performed. Hatha Yoga sessions are conducted daily under the guidance of a professional yoga instructor either in the yoga hall or atop the water tower with a sea view. Meditation is offered as needed, and acupuncture is available for a fee of approximately €17 (approx. UK £15 / USD $18). Guests are welcome to visit the hotel's own herbal kitchen or learn about the production of Ayurvedic herbal medicine during a lecture by the Ayurvedic doctors.
The hotel boasts an outdoor pool, sun loungers, and sun protection. The beach, with its fine sand and a coral reef just offshore, is only about a 5-minute walk away and offers year-round swimming opportunities. The surrounding area features a variety of excursion options such as boat trips, snorkelling, walks through the rice fields, visits to cinnamon and coconut plantations, as well as temple sites.
All rooms are spacious and bright, offering a magnificent view of the extensive tropical garden. The 20 rooms (about 323 sq ft) have garden/pool view, are equipped with shower/WC, ceiling fan, mosquito net, telephone, safe, and Ayurvedic care products, and feature a veranda or balcony. A hairdryer is available upon request, and selected rooms have air conditioning. Wi-Fi is available in the tea room. Single rooms are double rooms for single use.

1st Ayurveda experience, very good! The staff is incredibly friendly, but with too many guests (> 20) the family atmosphere is somewhat lost.

It was a different kind of vacation for me. I was skeptical at first as to whether it was the right decision. But after one day, I could definitely answer this question in the affirmative. On the one hand, the people who made the same decision are simply incredible. On the other hand, the people at Paradise Lawrence Hill, who tirelessly do their best to make the guests' stay as calm, relaxed and pleasant as possible. The doctors were competent and kind, the therapists have golden hands and everyone else who took care of them. The food was really good, sometimes a little short on choice but always delicious. The room boys always prepared the rooms so beautifully...twice a day! Of course, the facility is a little outdated and needs a little repair or painting here and there, but it's all about Ayurveda and they really know what they're doing. Our guest manager Ananda is hard to beat. He cares, always comes up with ideas and has lots of interesting things to tell. To sum up, I can say that it was worth the trip! I am super relaxed, have gained a lot of knowledge and will definitely be back.

It is indeed a paradise in this very busy city. As soon as you step into the facility, peace and quiet return. The consultations and treatments were very good and I felt well taken care of. At any time I could turn to staff, doctors or the guest attendants. The excursions make it very easy to see some of the country during the healing therapies. The hotel is an absolute recommendation.
