Surya Lanka is one of the few health resorts in Sri Lanka that practices Ayurveda according to the original sources of the "Ashtanga Samhita", the oldest preserved Ayurvedic scripture from the 6th century B.C. The qualified Ayurvedic doctors and therapists are specially trained to deal with European guests. In the renovated Ayurveda Centre, 12 treatment rooms for personalised treatments of the highest quality e.g. head, facial, Abhyanga full body, synchronous and thermal massages, herbal baths, warm oil treatments such as Kati Vasti or Uro Vasti. Yoga and meditation 5 times a week in the morning and evening at the pool or in the Yoga Pavilion. German speaking translator on request (please specify when booking).
The 3 Karmas
In Surya Lanka the Ayurveda Panchakarma is divided into 3 levels (Karmas):
During the Purva Karma (pre-treatment) the toxins are slowly released by means of oil massages, internal oiling and steam baths, so that they can be flushed out during the Pradhana Karma (main treatment) by means of Vasti (enema), Nasya (nasal/ sinus cleaning), Virechana (purging) and partly also Vamana (therapeutic vomiting). Finally, Pashtata Karma (after-treatment) with regenerating treatments and the final nutritional adjustment.

The Surya Lanka is a great, very competent and friendly resort. Everything is addressed and all needs are taken care of, it is well organized. The treatments are perfectly tailored to the guest and the time schedule is perfectly adapted to all guests. Even the cleaning crew comes when you are in treatment and makes the bed and the room nice and clean again! The food is delicious. The staff are very friendly. The beach was a bit devastated because of strong waves. The yoga lessons were not my cup of tea, after a few tries I practiced yoga on my own balcony, as I do a lot of yoga myself. show more

Never have I relaxed so well, with so many compliments about my appearance after returning. Great concept in hotel, a lot of very good applications in a dreamlike setting. Hearing the sounds only of the surf of the Indian Ocean, the palm leaves in the wind and the many birds in the palm garden. Deserted beach enjoyment. - Luxury in an unobtrusive, simple and relaxing way. Very clean, very well maintained. Fantastic, well maintained palm garden to relax. Great sport pool really great for swimming. Paradisical location right on the Indian Ocean with virtually pristine beach which you could use for swimming as well as a walk on the beach and without any harassment. Meals are served (weather permitting) all in the palm garden. No peer pressure; -each can keep to oneself. Very good concept, and very well done. The guest is really king.

Throughout the day, an employee has been parked with the task of keeping the out outer region clean. I swam a lot of laps.
