On the first day the first consultation ("Prakruthi") with the Ayurveda doctor takes place. With a series of questions and tests as well as the pulse diagnosis, the relationship between the three Doshas Vata, Pitta and Kapha will be determined. This results in your individual Dosha type. In addition, your personal goals will be discussed. On this basis, the Ayurveda doctor will draw up a treatment plan and recommend how often yoga and meditation should be practiced. Every day there are check-ups to ensure your well-being and the success of the treatment. If necessary, the duration or type of application can be adapted.

☀ The Siddhalepa Ayurveda Health Resort, in an idyllic location with a tropical garden, directly on the beach, has been open for its guests for over 20 years. The house, which is certified as an Ayurveda hospital, is reserved for Ayurveda guests and their companions and belongs to the Siddhalepa Group, a family business that has been cultivating the Ayurveda tradition for more than 200 years. The Siddhalepa Group

The products are regularly inspected by the government, awarded Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and are now on the market worldwide, including Germany.

The product range of the Siddhalepa brand includes essential balms and oils, Ayurvedic cosmetics and care products, toothpaste as well as Ayurvedic herbal medicine, dietary supplements, elixirs and tea. Guests of Siddhalepa Hotels are invited to visit the factory and learn more about the group.

‘Beautiful trip, incredibly hospitable people, I would like to go back!’ Original review

After already two Ayurvedic cures both in Sri Lanka and in India this was my first stay at Siddhalepa Resort in Wadduwa, Sri Lanka. And right away: I'm sure, not my last. show more

    • Hotel in general
We were picked up at the airport and after a transfer of about 1.5 hours we were in Wadduwa. The new highway is now a little faster than it was 6 years ago. In the hotel we were already expected with a welcome drink and were then brought directly to the rooms. We booked two single rooms and made sure we had them side by side. The first tour of the facility was a great experience for me. Nestled in a tropical garden are the various bungalows and residential units. Monkeys, monitor lizards, birds, butterflies and many more, many kinds of beautiful fragrant flowers are a balm for the soul and the senses. The room was very appealing and clean, every day is cleaned, fresh towels if required, a beach towel for the pool, shampoo and soap, everything was there. Air conditioning and fan, according to personal needs. I have not used the TV, but the view of nature is much too beautiful. Near the complex is the railway line that connects Colombo with the south, so you can hear the train from time to time. Depending on where you are. Likewise, one sometimes hears music when something takes place in town. I did not find this disturbing, on the contrary. Somehow, this made me feel even more integrated.
    • Service and hospitality
The resort is lovingly maintained by many good spirits, always you get a smile and a friendly "Ayubowan". Very nice and well maintained are the beach chairs on the beach side. You can also take long walks on the beach. Friendliness and helpfulness can be found here with EVERYONE you meet
    • Cuisine
There are two restaurants, depending on the capacity of the hotel is one or both are open. We were lucky, that the meals mostly in the (open) beach restaurant took place. The location is a dream. The buffet serves the needs of the Ayurveda guests (according to the nutritional plan of the doctor), as well as offers for guests who are not oriented to a nutrition plan or "only" to accompany it. The service is outstanding, very attentive and individual, without being intrusive. You feel welcome. The food is delicious, varied, appealingly presented.
    • Spa, treatment and pool area
The organization in the Ayurveda center is very good, so it is also possible to postpone or shift a day, so you can do treatments twice a day on another day in order to take a day trip. One is not a number there, but human. The pool is beautifully landscaped and big enough to swim proper laps.
    • Treatments and programmes
Already on the day of arrival I had the first doctor consultation to coordinate the treatment plan. On request you can do this with an interpreter, otherwise English is spoken. Every day before the treatments, you have a short consultation with a doctor to discuss the course and to discuss individual matters. I felt very well looked after. You are assigned a therapist (men = therapist), who then predominantly looks after you throughout the entire course of treatment. I was very satisfied with all the therapists who treated me. Approximately 2.5 hours of treatments during the day, morning or afternoon. All applications were carried out professionally, the treatment rooms are different, I felt at ease in all. Suggestions will be promptly taken up and implemented as far as possible. Felt very relaxed after every application.

‘An alltogether different holiday’ Original review

This holiday was certainly different from any other I had before. I'm still try to understand if I will ever repeat such an experience or opt for a totally different (perhaps more conventional) holiday though. I'm quiet rested compared to before, though I was hoping that with the treatments, medicines, yoga, and attention to food intake, as well as the detox programme I could also lose a bit of weight (a couple of chilos perhaps), which didn't really happen, so a bit disappointed. show more

    • Hotel in general
The setting is amazing. Immersed in green tropical vegetation a few metres from the ocean. The common areas (reception, garden, pool, beach, restaurants and bar) are clean, and tidy, though the cleanliness elsewhere (e.g. rooms) can fall below standards at times. This is exacerbated by the fact that the buildings are not fully weather and small animals/insects tight, so be prepared to share it with a gecko (or two), ants, flies and cockroaches.
    • Service and hospitality
The staff is really amazing, very helpful, cordial, and always ready to help you in your journey. They certainly met my expectations.
    • Cuisine
Food and drinks are generally good. I found it very repetitive though. You get exactly the same dishes 3 times a day. It looks and taste great the first couple of days, ok the following 2-3 days, but it gets really boring afterwards. Also there is no indication of how to relate different dishes and food to your specific dosha type(s) (for those following the ayurveda treatments), which to me defeated a little the whole programme.
    • Spa, treatment and pool area
The pool area is good, and clean, certainly enjoyable to spend an idle hour. The same is true for the beach area within the complex borders. In contrast, the treatment rooms would perhaps benefit from improvements in their look, they are a bit spartan - it's not uncommon that you have flies around you during the treatments.
    • Treatments and programmes
The treatments themselves are ok, but if you are not familiar with ayurveda it might all be a bit of a shock. The program is very intense, with almost a military regime, something that my brain tried to fight over the first few days as I wanted to be free to do whatever I wanted whenever I felt like. I found the amount of pills and drinks (all natural I was told, obviously with the most disgusting taste) was far too much. Also the 2.5 hours of treatments were often physically and mentally exhausting. The therapists and doctors seemed very competent, but the methods and techniques they use feel from a totally different century. Also with the exception of a couple of doctors, most of them speak very little English, so if you ask questions to understand what they are doing and why is nearly impossible to get a proper answer.

    • Hotel in general
The condition of the rooms is already in need of renovation, we have the room changed and took a superior de lux. Cleanliness is ok, the location on the beach outstanding, lobby and reception very helpful. Food very good and varied
    • Service and hospitality
All staff, from the gardener to the manager very attentive and immediately helpful, always friendly, you can not expect more.
    • Cuisine
      Very good and varied food.
    • Spa, treatment and pool area
Pool area very clean, but the cushions of the beach chairs outdated, would have to be renewed.
    • Treatments and programmes
It was our first Ayurveda experience. Very good massages, also other treatments according to medical arrangement were very good. We are well recovered and will repeat it.
