Hiru Aadya Ayurveda Resort in Detail
Your Ayurveda Resort
In the picturesque village of Ahungalla on the south coast of Sri Lanka, the Hiru Aadya Ayurveda Resort awaits you. A sanctuary of healing and rejuvenation, inspired by the time-honoured philosophy of the renowned Hiru Ayurveda Resorts. Supported by the enthusiasm of a dedicated, young team of four qualified Ayurveda therapists, Aadya offers a peaceful retreat that restores balance to body, mind, and soul.
Location & Surroundings
Ahungalla is a quiet coastal village on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, known for its expansive sandy beaches and pristine nature. Away from the main tourist streams, the village offers an authentic Sri Lankan lifestyle and a relaxed atmosphere. Its proximity to attractions such as the Madu Ganga River or the turtle project in Kosgoda makes Ahungalla an ideal base for discoveries and relaxation. Explore the lively vegetable market, visit the serene Kande Viharaya Temple, Galle for a colonial experience, the Hikkaduwa Tsunami Museum, the moonstone site, experience the bustling fishing port, or stroll through the stunning Brief Garden designed by renowned architect Geoffrey Bawa. These excursions, just minutes away, offer a perfect balance of cultural immersion and relaxation, complementing your Ayurveda journey without losing the spirit of recovery.
Dining & Leisure
In our newly built restaurant with direct sea view, you will be treated to an Ayurvedic vegetarian full board featuring fresh, organic ingredients from local and our own cultivation. Our experienced kitchen team cooks according to the principles of healing arts, with a strong focus on sustainability, permaculture, and supporting local communities. Meals are served directly to your table, tailored to your dosha constitution and your therapy program. Each meal consists of three courses: a soup, main course, and dessert.
Ayurveda Center
At the Ayurveda Center of the resort, qualified doctors and therapists provide personalized care. Each therapy begins with a comprehensive initial consultation including pulse diagnosis to determine your personal dosha type. Based on this, a tailored treatment plan is created. The focus is on the traditional Panchakarma therapy, which is conducted over a minimum of 14 days, ideally 21 days. It serves deep detoxification, strengthens the immune system, and restores balance to body, mind, and energy. The treatment is complemented by herbal therapies, individual dietary advice, and recommendations for long-term well-being, even beyond your stay.
In the 7 treatment rooms of the Ayurveda Center and in the Ayurveda garden at the back of the main building, you can enjoy a professional treatment daily. In good weather, treatments such as head, face, hand, or foot massages are performed in the garden under palm trees. The traditional flower bath also takes place outdoors, offering a particularly sensual experience amidst tropical nature.
Fitness & Courses
Daily offerings of yoga, Qi Gong, and meditation promote gentle movement, balance, and inner peace.

For longer excursions, the Galle Fort and the Moonstone Mine (about 1 hour each), as well as the Yala and Udawalawe National Parks, Kandy, and Sigiriya (4-5 hours each) are worthwhile.
