Prakriti Shakti in Detail

Your Naturopathy Resort

Amidst lush greenery, 850 m above sea level, the Prakriti Shakti Resort unfolds - a serene oasis for holistic healing. While 'Prakriti' (Sanskrit: प्रकृति) describes the origin of being and nature, 'Shakti' (Sanskrit: शक्ति) represents strength and energy. On your transformative journey with the power of nature, rediscover life in harmony with it and take a break from the mindless lifestyle of modern times. An opportunity to listen to your body, mind, and soul and truly feel at ease. In the Natural Medicine Clinic, therapies exclusively use elements of nature in their purest form. With a deep understanding of health needs on a physical and mental level, healers guide you through a personally tailored treatment program. This process is based on four essential components: elements of nature, nutrition, yoga, and energy. Enjoy the benefits of an untouched setting, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Location & Surroundings

The picturesque green hills of Panchalimedu, nestled in the heart of Kerala, are renowned for their pristine natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and tranquil atmosphere. The vast blue sky covering the hills allows you to enjoy the silence of nature. Feel the purity of nature in the white, swirling mist that slowly descends from the hills. The song of the birds inspires you to become one with nature. The lush and diverse flora, with its beautiful branching and varying shades and hues, is an expression of the harmony that resides within the living world. Nature inspires and protects you as you prepare for a healing experience that unfolds within you.

Dining & Leisure

"Our diet should consist of 80% alkaline and 20% acidic foods, yet what we consume is often the exact opposite. Everyone knows we should eat plant-based, but we don't. Even when we do eat plant-based, the food becomes acidic through reheating and overheating. Thus, even good vegetarian food becomes negative when heated beyond a certain point. This means we need to redefine and revise the way we prepare food."

Mindful eating is a key component of a naturopathic lifestyle. The fire-free kitchen at Prakriti Shakti combines fresh, organic local ingredients with the aesthetics of haute cuisine. The restaurant, featuring both indoor and outdoor seating, offers views of the pool and mountains, and you can watch the food being prepared through a kitchen window. The vegan, raw food dishes are tailored to individual treatment plans and follow the phases of detox, rebuilding, and calming. Simple and natural, the dishes aim to entice with their colours, aroma, and flavour. From traditional Kerala Sadya to delicious brownies – expect a variety of uncooked and unprocessed dishes."

Medical Spa

The infinity pool at the hotel offers a sweeping panoramic view over the surrounding hills.

The generously equipped treatment area features 13 treatment rooms, managed by 5 doctors and several therapists, including one doctor available 24/7. Natural elements are the remedies in naturopathy, and treatments such as mud, hydrotherapy, heliotherapy, energy medicine, massages, physiotherapy, reflexology, acupuncture, and acupressure allow these elements to interact with the body, facilitating regeneration. As a medical system that operates on the body's energy level, energy medicine is incorporated into the treatment programmes to support the self-healing process. Various massages are also integrated to relax the muscles and improve blood circulation.

All programme focuses are also suitable for prevention.

Yoga

The various meditative practices of yoga promote inner health and harmony and are invaluable steps towards good health. Based on therapeutic approaches of yoga, doctors have developed treatment methods for various conditions. In the hotel's yoga hall or on the yoga deck, five different types of yoga are combined: Soukya Yoga (daily focus on a specific system in the body), Samana Yoga (personalised sessions), Dharana Yoga (guided relaxation techniques), Dhyana Yoga (breathing exercises and meditation), and Shudhi Kriyas (natural cleansing procedures according to individual needs).

Free Time

An in-house library with books on naturopathy, yoga, and other practices invites you to relax. Additionally, there are many attractive sights nearby. One of the main attractions of Panchalimedu is the breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and valleys, best enjoyed from the viewpoint on the hill (about 25-30 minutes walk/10 minutes by car). At the top of the mountain is also the Panchalimedu Temple, believed to be over 2000 years old. Besides the temple, there are beautiful meadows, hiking trails, and waterfalls. Visitors can also explore the nearby Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary (about 60 minutes/42 km), which hosts a diverse range of flora and fauna, including elephants, tigers, leopards, and rare bird species. Panchalimedu is also known for its rich cultural heritage, as numerous ancient rituals and festivals are still celebrated here. One of the most popular festivals is the Makaravilakku Festival, held in January and February, attracting thousands of followers from around the world.
