A multiple award-winning, nature-integrated Ayurveda resort by the Kairali Group with an excellent Ayurveda Center - certified by Green Leaf & Ayurveda Hospital. Each villa is consciously designed according to Feng Shui, enhancing the success of your retreat.
Kairali - The Ayurvedic Healing Village is enchantingly located in the highlands of Kerala, southwest India, a region aptly known as the 'Land of the Gods'. Situated about 7.5 miles from the town of Palakkad, the resort nestles within a 62-acre palm grove, surrounded by lush rice fields, gentle hills, and dense forests - a perfect setting for tranquility, healing, and reflection. Established in 1989, the resort has always embraced a holistic approach based on the highest ecological and social standards. Under the guiding principle of 'Back to Nature', it combines authentic Ayurveda with sustainable living and ecological responsibility. All architectural structures are built according to the principles of Vastu Shastra - the Indian doctrine of harmony between man, nature, and architecture (comparable to Feng-Shui), creating a unique energy that resonates with body, mind, and soul alike. The resort is not only multi-award-winning but also recognized as an official Ayurvedic Hospital. It holds the prestigious NABH certificate (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers), ensuring the highest quality and safety standards in Indian healthcare. This blend of a natural setting, traditional healing knowledge, and certified medical care makes the resort one of the leading Ayurveda centers worldwide.
Palakkad, nestled in the heart of Kerala in South India, is a sanctuary of tranquility, natural beauty, and spiritual healing. This picturesque region, surrounded by the majestic Western Ghats, features landscapes of verdant hills, dense forests, and endless palm groves that captivate every visitor. The tropical climate, pristine air, and rich biodiversity create the perfect backdrop for relaxation and inner peace. Away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, you can authentically experience the centuries-old tradition of Ayurveda. The peaceful surroundings and the powerful nature of this place make it an ideal retreat for those seeking profound well-being, clarity, and a deep connection with nature.
Nutrition is a core component of the holistic healing concept at the resort. The two restaurants, Lilly and Oottupura, exclusively serve vegetarian dishes tailored to your dosha constitution. In close collaboration with Ayurvedic doctors, meals are crafted to optimally support your health. Ingredients are mostly sourced from our own organic farm: fresh vegetables, herbs, and dairy products from our in-house dairy ensure the highest quality and freshness. We consciously avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol to enhance the cleansing and healing process. In addition to meals, guests can participate in Ayurvedic cooking workshops to learn more about preparing dosha-balancing dishes and the importance of mindfulness in eating. This experience allows you to integrate the principles of Ayurveda into your daily life and benefit from its health advantages long-term. Upon request, a communication table can be provided during meals, where you can connect with other Ayurveda guests.
Spacious and traditional, ideal for comprehensive Ayurveda treatments with dedicated Ayurvedic doctors and therapists (available daily from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.), certified by Green Leaf. In 10 welcoming treatment rooms, authentic Ayurveda is applied according to individual needs. A large new yoga hall is available for yoga and meditation sessions accompanying the therapy. The resort is part of the Kairali Group, which, in addition to manufacturing and distributing its own Ayurveda products, operates 24 Ayurveda centers worldwide. Ayurveda training programs are also available, as well as other programs for conditions such as sinusitis and migraines, arthritis and spondylitis (spinal inflammation), rheumatism, diabetes, skin, eye, or bronchial diseases, as well as addiction recovery and rehabilitation upon request.
Kairali offers its guests a plethora of opportunities for relaxation and activity: an outdoor pool, gym, internet service, and a lounge with billiards and a library are available. Sporty guests can use tennis and badminton courts or explore the surroundings with bike rental. Excursions to temples, villages, or mountains, as well as a seasonal cultural programme, provide an intimate understanding of the region. For a fee, additional yoga classes and sessions with a Kerala astrologer or palm reader can be booked.
The 28 villas and 2 suites are individually designed according to the astrological system and Feng Shui (allocation according to zodiac sign upon request). They are harmoniously distributed among waterways, ponds, herbs, and palms. 11 Classic villas, 7 Deluxe villas, 10 Royal villas, and 2 Maharaja suites (available upon request). 4 villas are senior-friendly. The spirituality lived at Kairali is palpable, for instance, in the choice of flooring - red oxide - which has cooling properties according to Ayurvedic principles, or the Valambari Conch (sacred shell) placed in each villa, regarded as a positive energy source. Moreover, a water body flows past each villa, intended to provide energy and mental peace. Safe at the reception. Single rooms are double rooms for single use.

A very good Ayurveda hotel. The treatments, the doctors and the beautiful design of the hotel grounds deserve special mention. The hotel is designed like a small village. There are 39 detached cottages as hotel rooms. The food is always served and even with a strict diet you will be satisfied at every meal. The meals are tasty and lovingly prepared. Twice a week there are cooking classes where you are shown how to prepare the respective meals, it's worth taking part, I received some very valuable tips on how to cook quickly, well, healthily and with few calories. The treatments are carried out by men for men and by women for women, are housed in different building complexes and are absolutely great and varied, I came here because of chronic back pain and left almost pain-free. The treatment is supported by very good and inexpensive Ayurvedic medication (I paid approx. 16 euros for 4 weeks of 4 different medications. The doctors are always approachable, enquire almost daily how you are doing and give excellent advice at the end on how to continue the treatment at home. I have lost 5 kilos and quite a bit of weight. At the beginning and end of the healing therapy, your blood pressure and body circumference are measured and you are weighed. I didn't find the pranayama and meditations so good. The pranayama should be more for beginners, I couldn't quite understand the procedure for it (I'm a yoga teacher myself) and there was far too much talking during the meditations (from the female yoga teacher), I missed the silence to meditate (I meditate silently and with a mantra) but that's just a matter of taste. My only criticism is the departure and this criticism also applies to SpaDreams Travel, I had previously asked if it is possible to book the room for the day before arrival, so that I can arrive at the hotel (6.00 am) in a yroom. I also told them that I was in a lot of pain and would have to lie down. I was told that unfortunately there were no rooms available, the hotel would try to make the room available as soon as possible, but otherwise there would be a day room where I could lie down, which would have been absolutely fine for me. On arrival I was then told that there were no options. I was offered to lie down on a sofa in the public area of reception, which I didn't want. The initial consultation was at 1.15 pm and the first treatment in the afternoon, but I was unable to do this due to my pain. I ended up lying down on a lounger by the pool and fell asleep there. The guest relations managers and the reception manager picked me up and took me to a day room, I think it was around 11.00 am. After not being at breakfast I was brought a plate of fruit and when my room was ready I was taken to my room. I was so surprised and exhausted that I didn't eat anything that day and slept through until the next morning. This situation unfortunately cost me a day of my vacation and contradicts the advice to make the trip as stress-free as possible. I would simply have wished for honesty here, then I could have taken a room in Kochi and arrived stress-free the next day around noon. Another note on the silence, it was not quite as quiet as expected, at 5.09 a.m. and at 5 p.m. very loud Indian music can be heard for approx. one hour, I could not determine where this came from. In addition, there were some families with children in the hotel at times, which also made it a bit louder. The guests in the hotel were all very, very nice, of course you can stay alone as a solo traveler, everyone makes friends very quickly. Somehow it felt like a big family and everyone knows everyone. The staff also know all the guests by name and really do everything they can to make everyone feel comfortable. I also used the laundry service once, it was quick, good and absolutely affordable. We recommend a shopping trip to Pallakad and a visit to the Shiva Devi and Hanuman temples.) A trip there can be booked at reception (the car with driver costs the equivalent of just under 50 euros and can then be used for 4 hours). The driver always stays nearby during the 4 hours, you tell him what you want to buy or visit and he recommends options, drives you there and waits nearby. We always joined forces, which made the trip quite cheap. We also recommend a visit to the farm which is right next to the hotel. Conclusion: a great vacation, I had a very good rest and felt very comfortable.
