The Athreya Medical Resort is a family-run establishment, boasting Ayurvedic expertise passed down through five generations. Nestled in the serene, untouched nature of Kerala, surrounded by rice fields and coconut palms, the resort is located approximately 4.3 miles from Kottayam and close to the southern foothills of the Backwaters. The cottages and all other facilities such as the restaurant, yoga and meditation hall are built in the traditional Kerala style, using natural materials and wood. The resort combines medical precision with authentic Ayurveda, making it the ideal choice for guests seeking intensive, personalised consultation and professional Ayurvedic treatments. The focus here is on the proven Panchakarma therapy, which serves both to maintain health and to treat illnesses.

The state of Kerala in South India is renowned for its numerous Ayurveda schools. Here, Ayurveda is not just a healthcare system, but a way of life. The monsoon season (June to October) provides optimal conditions for rejuvenating Ayurveda treatments due to the high humidity.

In the Ayurveda Restaurant, vegetarian dishes are served according to your individually prescribed dietary plan. Various diets, such as for diabetics or gluten-free, are available on request.

The Ayurveda Center is led by the highly experienced and modern Ayurvedic scientist Dr. Sreejith, supported by a qualified team of Ayurvedic doctors and therapists. Specializing in the treatment of lifestyle diseases such as metabolic syndrome (diabetes, obesity), migraine, insomnia, stress and its effects on the immune system, as well as cancer treatments. Traditional Ayurvedic remedies are successfully combined with Western medicine. The necessary oils and herbal medicines are produced on-site in the family-owned pharmacy. A special therapy by Dr. Sreejit is bloodletting, known for its immune-boosting and regenerative effects. To realistically assess the prospects of success of an Ayurveda therapy, the team offers personal consultations before and after the therapy via Skype or phone (in English). Additionally, a questionnaire to capture medical history is sent before the trip to best prepare for the patients. On-site, guests receive a laptop daily to further optimize their stay based on constant feedback. Yoga and meditation support the therapy success. A modern and fully equipped dental clinic is available for dental treatments (payable on-site).

Integrated Approach to Cancer Healing

Dr. Sreejit regularly trains over 200 Ayurvedic doctors online in Ayush (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy) and Allopathy, who wish to learn and practice the integrated approach to cancer healing here. Together with Dr. Sreejit's mentor Dr. Mathew, they have treated over 8,000 advanced-stage cancer patients with varying degrees of success. Dr. Sreejit shares these experiences and comments on YouTube to assist those affected.
