Your Hotel
☀ The small, very individual Lotus Villa is located in the southwest of Sri Lanka directly on the long sandy beach of Ahungalla, between Hikkaduwa and Bentota in an idyllic, tropical garden with waterfall and meditation fountain. Already opened in 1982, used as a guesthouse and finally awarded as an Ayurveda Hospital in 1998, the house, which specializes in traditional Ayurveda, is still run by the Austrian founding family Huber. The founder, Peter Huber, once experienced on his own body how healing Ayurveda can be, and so began the success story of the resort. Then as now, the villa also welcomes many German-speaking guests with an extremely familiar ambience and personal, friendly service.
Sustainability
The resort convinces with Western standards and high environmental awareness. For example, the resort has its own water treatment plant, with the help of which the tap water is treated to drinking water with quality according to international law. The resort's wastewater is also treated to be used for irrigation for its own vegetable and herb gardens. Organic produce from the garden is used in the kitchen and the resort's own Ayurvedic pharmacy. Plastic is replaced with glass.

The traditional Ayurveda prevention/preventive and rehabilitation/intensive programs at Lotus Villa are primarily aimed at those guests who are looking for a holistic approach to themselves and their personal condition and who appreciate medically high-quality Ayurveda in a family environment. Also suitable as pre- and after-care for many diseases (e.g. gynecological disorders, post-covid). In the Ayurveda Center or the in-house clinic you can expect professionalism and passion thanks to the well-coordinated team of experienced Ayurveda doctors, therapists and nurses. Resident doctors and therapists are in the house 24/7.
In Lotus Villa you do not receive treatments on demand, but the team acts according to the prescription of the doctors individually tailored to you and the best possible therapy success. For the treatments there are several massage rooms, herbal and steam baths in traditional country style, as well as an Ayurvedic herbal sauna and a stone oil tub for skin treatments. The treatments prescribed for you or the reasons for their selection will be carefully explained to you, and a translator will be glad to assist you (specify when booking).
In the licensed production area, the Ayurveda pharmacy with oil kitchen, the oils for treatments and Ayurvedic medicine are produced by ourselves. In the Ayurveda garden the plants for the Ayurvedic medicine are growing, which is not a necessary part of the retreat (depending on the indication). The products are exclusively for house guests and are not on sale nationally or internationally; however, they can of course be purchased for the post-therapy at home if needed.
Additional consultations with specialists in cancer, cerebrovascular accident, dermatology, ENT as well as stomatology and western trained doctors are possible, blood and urine tests etc. for a fee. German speaking translators for the doctor's visits and to explain the therapy plan without charge.
