The tradition of bathing in mineral water came from south Europe. In central Europe the healing water is predominantly used for drinking. In the West Bohemian Spa Triangle Franzensbad, Karlsbad, Marienbad (also known as Frantiskovy Lazne, Karlovy Vary, Marianske Lazne) in Czech Republic it is highly significant. It is known in Slovenia e.g. in Radenci (with use of Radenska water). In the Hungarian healing spas, drinking cures fall into the category of healing treatments.
