Susi Carniato: My journey led me to yoga in 2012. A year of sudden new responsibilities (end-of-life care) and several draining changes brought me to Zen meditation. After a very inspiring stay at the Songgwangsa Monastery in South Korea, I asked my mentor Hyon Gak Sunim how a monk maintains vitality and movement when sitting for many hours. The answer was: Yoga. Alongside Zen meditation, I began practicing. The joy and complete change of direction led me further to yoga teacher training and to becoming a founding member of the Zen Center Regensburg. In workshops and further training, I learned to teach pregnant women, children, and seniors (chair yoga). In my yoga classes, I want to share the joy of movement, the ease through breathing, and the complete relaxation through letting go. In my Hatha yoga practice, one learns through precise alignment of exercise postures and guidance of breath, to open up for greater mental and physical flexibility.

Sabine Hlous: I have been practicing for 20 years and teaching various students in different yoga studios for over 8 years. My own experience as a cancer patient has fundamentally changed my view of people, my own life, and yoga in general. My desire is to reach as many people as possible with yoga. No matter why they come to yoga. I always try to meet my students where they are. Mindfulness and empathy have always been more important to me than flexibility and athletic asanas. From my perspective, the approach we find in Yin Yoga is true yoga. Without judgment, without comparison, and always individually tailored to the mental and physical situation. In my classes, there is always a place for Pranayama (breath control) and meditation. I like to enhance my classes with atmospheric music.
