Good to know

Island pearl off Dubrovnik

The approximately 5 sq km island of Lopud is located northwest of Dubrovnik. For more than a century Lopud has been known as a seaside resort. Due to the mild climate with an average of about 2,500 hours of sunshine a year, the island offers a lush Mediterranean vegetation with palm trees, lemons, oranges, cypresses and much more. The only settlement is situated in a bay in the northwest. From there, a path leads to the well-known bay Sunj on the other side of the island.

There is no traffic on the entire island, with the exception of some bikes, scooters etc. Line boats run frequently between the mainland and the island.
