In the South Tyrolean fruit-growing community of Lana, nestled between vineyards and lush greenery, lies the family-run Hotel Schwarzschmied. The hotel is divided into 3 building areas: The main building, the garden wing with garden and direct spa access, and the residence located in an annex building. Location & Surroundings
The South Tyrolean fruit-growing community of Lana, nestled between lush orchards and vineyards, is located just about 6 miles from Merano and about 12 miles from the South Tyrolean capital, Bolzano. Lana train station is approximately 1.2 miles away.
Dining & Leisure
The kitchen team conjures up exquisite dishes from regional and seasonal products, including vegan, vegetarian, lactose-free, and gluten-free options. Enjoy a breakfast buffet with organic croissants from the local bakery and homemade bread. The half board includes a 4-course menu featuring high-quality products from local farmers and mountain pastures, as well as fish from Italian waters. Lunch is available in the afternoon for an additional charge. The Schwarzschmied Bar and Lounge offers a variety of homemade and regional drinks and cocktails.
Wellness & Spa
The Balance-SPA offers year-round heated indoor and outdoor pools with "vitalized" Grander water, a bio-sauna (approx. 149°F) and a Finnish outdoor sauna (approx. 194°F). Guests can relax in the steam bath or linger in the indoor relaxation rooms and enjoy refreshing drinks at the organic tea bar. Experience various massages and beauty treatments, including facial treatments with premium products from Susanne Kaufmann™, as well as massages such as the energetic Dorn-Breuss back massage, Shiatsu, and detox treatments.

Deepen your yoga practice during your stay at Schwarzschmied or discover yoga for the first time. As a key element to align body and soul, regular yoga practice is a cornerstone at Schwarzschmied. Daily yoga sessions are offered (Mon.-Sat.) including Morning Yoga, Vinyasa, Sivananda, Hatha, Detox, Asthanga, Fascia, etc., with private sessions available at an additional cost. Various group yoga retreats are scheduled throughout the year.
Free Time
The hotel offers bicycle and e-bike rentals (approx. €40/day) for trips to Merano or Bolzano. The fitness room boasts an inspiring view of the adjacent vineyard, while the outdoor relaxation garden and reading room invite you to unwind. For nature enthusiasts, there are numerous hiking trails, including routes to the picturesque Ultental on the edge of the Stelvio National Park. Additionally, our guests receive a 20% green fee discount on all golf courses in South Tyrol.

68 stylishly furnished rooms, each equipped with a shower/WC, balcony, TV, safe, bathrobe, yoga mat, and Wi-Fi. Standard DBL rooms (approx. 20 sqm) are located in the Residence (annex). Garden Rooms (approx. 36 sqm) in the garden wing feature a south-facing balcony, oak wood flooring, a small library by a local artist, hand-woven carpets, with either an open or closed bathroom. Junior Suites (approx. 45 sqm) in the main building with an east-facing balcony, some with a bathtub, additionally equipped with a Marshall Music Box and artwork by local artists. Single rooms are double rooms for single use.
