Ayurvie Sigiriya in Detail
Your Ayurveda Resort
Ayurvie Sigiriya, a haven of rejuvenation, is an architectural marvel that emulates the traditional Sri Lankan homestead, impressively demonstrating that modern living comfort can coexist with traditional Sri Lankan clay construction. Every building material is biodegradable, creating a natural and pleasant ambiance. The resort sets new standards for sustainable tourism in Sri Lanka by eschewing plastics and instead using materials like clay, wood, stone, natural paints, and traditional fabrics. A true paradise nestled in nature, overlooking one of the country's most significant landmarks. The Ayurvie Sigiriya Retreat offers a unique venue for your authentic Ayurveda therapy in Sri Lanka. On request, your stay can be combined with a visit to the sister hotel, Ayurvie Weligama by the sea, for a perfect balance of cultural experiences, relaxation, and serene beach moments.
Location & Surroundings
The Ayurveda Resort is nestled in the shadow of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the eighth wonder of the ancient world. Located in the picturesque village of Audangawa, Ayurvie Sigiriya offers easy access to the ancient kingdoms of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa, significant monastic complexes and temples such as the Dambulla Cave Temple and Ritigala Monastery, as well as numerous wildlife parks. Here, guests can experience authentic meditation techniques and the rich Buddhist culture of Sri Lanka.
Dining & Leisure
At the open-air restaurant of the resort, indulge in meticulously crafted Ayurvedic cuisine. The menus are purely vegetarian, featuring organic whole foods, and are tailored by the Ayurvedic doctor to balance your doshas while meeting your dietary and health needs. Most ingredients are sourced from the resort's extensive organic vegetable and herb garden.
Ayurveda Center
Lead Ayurveda physician Dr. Hansika Cooray, alongside Dr. Nirmani Jayasinghe and a highly skilled team of therapists, is dedicated to your well-being. Ayurvie offers its guests a range of treatments following a personal consultation with the in-house Ayurveda physician, who determines your primary and secondary doshas (constitution). Daily treatments are then prescribed with the goal of rebalancing your doshas. The therapy is continuously tailored to your individual needs through daily consultations. The four traditionally decorated treatment rooms, set amidst rice fields and herbal gardens, enhance your regeneration and ensure deep relaxation. The rooms are semi-open with natural ventilation, allowing the sounds of nature to permeate. Your Ayurvedic treatment plan is complemented by daily yoga and meditation sessions, suitable for both beginners and advanced participants. Treatments are also available at the sister hotel, Ayurvie Weligama, allowing you to start your treatment in one hotel and complete it in another, combining cultural, therapeutic, and beach holidays.
Free Time
In addition to the traditional Ayurvedic Panchakarma treatments that revitalise body, mind, and soul, the resort offers activities to experience local traditions and culture. From cooking demonstrations and learning about the cultivation and harvesting methods in the on-site gardens to hikes, visits to the village temple for meditation, and participation in a traditional Dhane (almsgiving) - these offerings enrich your stay at this Ayurveda Resort in Sri Lanka. A visit to the on-site pottery is highly recommended. Immerse yourself in the secrets of pottery and create your own masterpiece.
