Day 1: Cochin
Welcome at Cochin Airport. The afternoon is free to explore this picturesque, historically significant port city. Founded in 1341, Cochin was once a crucial stop on the trade route between Europe and China. Overnight in Cochin.
Day 2: Thekkady
Travel to Thekkady. As one of India's most beautiful nature reserves, Thekkady offers numerous activities, such as visiting a spice plantation or attending a traditional Kathakali dance performance. Kathakali is one of the oldest dance forms, typically depicting demons and gods of Hindu mythology with vividly painted faces and elaborate costumes. Overnight in Thekkady.
Day 3: Thekkady
In Periyar National Park, known as an elephant and tiger reserve, you can enjoy light trekking or a boat ride. A Kalaripayattu performance is also a special highlight. This martial art is considered the oldest in the world and the mother of Asian martial arts. Overnight in Thekkady.
Day 4: Alleppey
Drive to Alleppey. Alleppey, or Alappuzha, is the perfect starting point for tours into the Backwaters. A tour through the fascinating waterway landscape in the hinterland of the Malabar Coast is undoubtedly a highlight of a Kerala trip. Overnight in Alleppey.
Day 5: Trivandrum
Travel to Trivandrum. The capital of Kerala, established as the capital of the Kingdom of Travancore in 1750, is now a hub for the IT industry and tourism. Overnight at Mary's Homestay.
Day 6: Trivandrum
Attractions in Trivandrum include the museum with a collection of historical and contemporary art, the art gallery, the zoo, one of the best-designed zoos in Asia, an aquarium, the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, and the Padmanabhapuram Palace. The Hindu temple is dedicated to an incarnation of Vishnu and includes a temple complex spanning 2,400 square meters, surrounded by ancient Brahmin houses and a pond. Overnight at Mary's Homestay.
Day 7: Trivandrum
The Ponmudi Hill Station near Trivandrum offers an ideal destination for hiking. The Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary in the Western Ghats hosts a rich fauna and stunning nature with dense forests, crystal-clear streams, and rocky terrain. Overnight at Mary's Homestay.
Day 8: Departure/Onward Journey
Transfer to your next resort nearby or to Trivandrum Airport.
