Spa Resort Lanka by the Lake is located in Bentota, in the west of the island in a quiet area, surrounded by countless trees and tropical plants, right on a natural lake. In addition to a rich flora with plantations and gardens, a charming wildlife awaits you. The resort is a haven of peace and serenity, making it predestined for Ayurveda treatments.
Location & Surroundings
Less than two hours' drive from Colombo Airport, the journey takes you through lush greenery, past rice fields and small villages. Spa Resort Lanka by the Lake is located in Bentota in a quiet setting by a lakeside. Bentota's beaches can be reached in about 15 minutes via the hotel's own TukTuk shuttle.
Dining & Leisure
In the restaurant with outdoor seating, you will enjoy vegetarian and vegan Ayurvedic meals tailored to your dosha and treatment plan. Your chef has 20 years of experience in the art of Ayurvedic cuisine. All products come from regional, organic farming. Weekly cooking demonstrations and dietary workshops are held to maintain healthy habits after your treatment.
Ayurveda Center
The Ayurveda team, consisting of an experienced Ayurveda doctor who practices Ayurveda in the 5th generation and is also specialized in astrology and spiritual healing, along with two doctors and several therapists, is available around the clock. Based on your medical history, the doctors can create an individual treatment plan, optionally even before your arrival. The daily massages and treatments take place in the Ayurveda Center, in open pavilions, in the garden, or in your accommodation. Yoga and meditations accompanying the therapy complete the treatment plan and are added according to your health condition. Before your departure, you will participate in a 2-hour dietary advice session, which will help you implement a healthy diet at home. Consultations after departure are possible, for example, via Zoom.
Yoga
Your Ayurvedic treatment plan would not be complete without yoga and meditation, designed to offer you holistic healing for long-term health and well-being. The certified yoga instructors will lead you into a state of peace and tranquility, allowing you to regain your inner balance and harmonize your mind, body, and soul. The classes are suitable for beginners and advanced students alike and can be tailored to your treatment plan.
Free Time
Let the untouched nature and its beauty have an effect on you. To cool off after a day of treatments, the resort offers an outdoor pool, as well as a barefoot path in the garden. Spa Resort Lanka by the Lake can arrange a Tuk-Tuk to the nearby beaches of Bentota (about 15 mins), where a section of the beach with hotel-owned loungers is available, as well as excursions to temples, local villages, or to the hotel's own herb garden.

Hotel rooms at a glance
You will find 12 individually designed chalets (including 6 wheelchair accessible) with unobstructed views of the lake and the forest beyond. All rooms are cosy, furnished with natural materials, and have a balcony facing the lake. A yoga mat is available, as well as a mosquito net, bathrobe, and slippers. Consultations, partial treatments such as head/foot massages, and meals in the room are possible.

We liked it very much all round, it was just as we had imagined. Food, massages, cleanliness of the hotel, friendliness of the staff, everything is tip top. The grounds are beautiful with all the animals and the garden. We really like small retreats like this. Except for the heat, which got to me a bit. But that's nobody's fault. Thank you very much.
