Founded over 20 years ago, Muthumuni Beach Resort was created from the vision of blending Ayurvedic tradition with the natural beauty of Sri Lanka's south coast. Shaped by generations of experienced Ayurveda practitioners, the resort combines authentic healing arts with warm Sri Lankan hospitality - all set in a stunning beachfront location.

Beruwela, located on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, is one of the country's most popular holiday regions. The extensive Mangalla sandy beach, protected by a reef, delights with fine, golden sand and turquoise blue water. The vibrant coastal town itself exudes a colorful and authentic flair with its small shops and markets.

Nutrition is a central component and is based on the six Ayurvedic tastes - sweet, sour, salty, bitter, spicy & astringent. All dishes are individually tailored to constitution and treatments. The day starts with a rich breakfast buffet of tropical fruits, freshly squeezed juices, soothing herbal soups, and Sri Lankan specialties. A colorful buffet with a variety of vegetable variations, mild curries, and selected fish dishes awaits you for lunch. In the evening, a vegetarian menu is served. A special highlight is the "Sri Lankan Night", where traditional specialties are prepared live. Red meat and alcohol are not served.

The specialized Ayurveda team, featuring experienced Ayurvedic doctors and multiple therapists, offers each guest a personalized treatment. The Ayurveda Center boasts 12 treatment rooms, an Ayurvedic steam bath, and granite tubs for herbal baths. Guests receive daily between 4-5 treatments with a total duration of about 2.5 hours per day. Treatments include head and facial massages, full-body massages, Shirodhara (oil forehead flow), acupuncture, nasal cleansing, Ayurvedic steam baths, and foot massages. Herbal treatments enhance sensory perception and mental strength, promoting a holistic approach that can balance mind, body, and soul, boost the immune system, and lead to inner peace.

In addition to the therapy, yoga sessions are included, comprising four sessions per week, primarily focusing on Hatha Yoga. All yoga and meditation offerings are suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners. Additionally, three meditation sessions per week are held on a temple island, contributing to mental relaxation and inner balance.

Relax by the outdoor pool - whether it's a refreshing morning swim, a cozy break with a good book in the afternoon, or a peaceful evening bath. Surrounded by sun loungers, the pool area invites you to unwind and disconnect.

Experience Sri Lankan heritage up close. Learn to wear traditional clothing like the authentic Kandyan Saree and understand its cultural significance. Ideal for special occasions, cultural interest, or unforgettable photos. The Muthumuni team is happy to assist with organizing and planning excursions to interesting destinations such as the Botanical Garden in Peradeniya, Colombo, or the British-influenced "city above the clouds" Nuwara Eliya. Boat tours through the mangroves are also available. Additionally, the well-developed tourist locations of Beruwela and Bentota offer plenty of variety in the immediate vicinity, such as the Brief Garden or Kande Viharaya Temple.
