This family-run retreat, lovingly designed by German architect and yoga instructor Elke de Silva and her husband, combines traditional architecture with modern comfort and is built according to the principles of Sri Lankan "Feng Shui" to promote a harmonious flow of energy. Guests enjoy a barefoot-friendly luxury environment with a sustainable focus and personal service. An 18-meter long chlorine-free pool, a beautifully maintained garden, and the sound of nature create an atmosphere that refreshes both body and mind. Ideal for yoga, detox, or pure relaxation. The nearest beach and the city of Galle are about a 20-minute drive away.

Location & Surroundings

The area around Galle in the south of Sri Lanka is renowned for its captivating blend of history, culture, and nature. The UNESCO World Heritage Site, Galle Fort, a well-preserved colonial fortress from the 17th century, reflects the influence of the Portuguese, Dutch, and British. Surrounded by picturesque beaches, tea and cinnamon plantations, and tropical vegetation, the region offers a variety of activities such as surfing, diving, and nature explorations. The charming old town with its narrow streets, boutiques, and cafes invites you to linger and makes Galle a cultural and scenic highlight of Sri Lanka.

Dining & Leisure

The Veranda Restaurant offers a delightful blend of authentic Sri Lankan dishes such as rice and curries, fresh fish, soups, desserts, as well as specialties from the East and West. The kitchen prioritises natural ingredients and healthy preparation methods, free from artificial additives, but rich in herbs, cold-pressed oils, and meticulous attention to detail. Nestled within a tea plantation, the hotel is the perfect spot to sample premium tea varieties like black, green, and herbal teas. For coffee enthusiasts, an espresso machine is available, and freshly pressed juices, smoothies, or even a King Coconut complement the selection. Gluten-free or lactose-free meals can also be prepared.

Before breakfast, tea can be served in your room, alternatively, coffee or a healthy ginger water is available. The team ensures that you feel at home away from home.

Yoga & Meditation

The estate features a spacious 8 x 12 metre Yoga Shala and a smaller yoga room, where daily yoga and meditation sessions as well as retreat packages are offered. Sometimes, the sessions are also held on the rooftop terrace.

Depending on the yoga package, guided meditations, Hatha Yoga, Aerial Yoga, Yin Yoga, or workshops are on the agenda. The meditation and yoga are suitable for all levels, from complete beginners to experienced intermediates. Additionally, Ayurvedic massages can be booked on site. Private one-on-one yoga sessions are available for a fee.

Free Time

1 Infinity outdoor pool overlooking the tropical nature. Guided plantation tours, rice & curry cooking classes, bike rides to the beach, and bird-watching excursions. For trips to the historic Galle Fort or nearby areas, tuk-tuks or the hotel's own air-conditioned van are available. Niya Shop offers postcards, toothpaste, and sunscreen. A national park with a stunning waterfall, the Udawalawe Elephant Park, and tea tasting at a tea factory - all within reach and easily incorporated into a half or full-day excursion.

5 spacious single or double rooms and 3 expansive double or twin suites are located in the main building. In the new Yoga House next door, right next to the large Yoga Shala, there are 3 additional twin rooms. All rooms and suites feature air conditioning and ceiling fans, mosquito nets, mini fridge, safe, toiletries, hairdryer, high-quality furniture, luxuriously appointed bathrooms, and a magnificent view of nature, most with a private balcony. Hypoallergenic pillows available on request. The single rooms are double rooms for single use.
