HanseMerkur: Premium cover

The HanseMerkur Travel Cancellation & Curtailment Insurance includes:

  • Travel Cancellation Insurance:
    If you cancel your travel booking or start your trip late, HanseMerkur will reimburse the contractually owed cancellation costs or the additional outward travel costs.
  • Trip interruption insurance:
    If the trip is interrupted prematurely, HanseMerkur will reimburse either the entire or a proportion of the travel price, depending on the time of interruption. It also covers the additional costs in the event of a delayed return journey and reimburses the unused travel services in the event of a delayed departure.
  • Travel health insurance:
    In the event of necessary medical treatment abroad, HanseMerkur reimburses, among other things, the costs of outpatient and inpatient treatment as a private patient, medically prescribed medicines and dressings and covers the costs of medically appropriate and justifiable return transportation to the home country.
  • Emergency insurance:
    The emergency call service is available to you during your trip 365 days a year, around the clock and worldwide. This includes, among other things, ambulance transportation (within Germany) or assistance in the event of loss of documents or means of payment.
  • Luggage insurance:
    If your luggage is damaged or lost, HanseMerkur will reimburse you for the current value up to a maximum of EUR 2,000. If your luggage is not delivered on time, it will reimburse all necessary replacement purchases up to EUR 500.
  • Travel accident insurance:
    In the event of disability due to an accident, HanseMerkur will pay you a one-off compensation for pain and suffering, depending on the degree of permanent injury. In the event of accidental death, the benefit is EUR 20,000, for children up to the age of 18 EUR 10,000.
  • Travel liability insurance:
    You enjoy insurance cover against claims for compensation for personal injury and damage to property. The maximum amount of cover is EUR 1.5 million, including up to EUR 25,000 for damage to rented property.
