The Hotel Freund, a member of the Private Hotels Dr. Lohbeck, is quietly and idyllically situated, surrounded by nature, between the southern Sauerland, the Edersee, and the Kellerwald National Park. In addition to pure relaxation in the spa spanning approximately 2,700 sqm, the hotel offers a variety of options for active holidays and excursions in the surrounding area. The outdoor area with its beach garden evokes a holiday atmosphere.

The spa town of Oberorke is picturesquely nestled in the green hills and forests of the Waldecker Land, situated between the southern Sauerland and Kellerwald. This idyllic village by the small Orke river is located close to Lake Edersee and the Kellerwald National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The surrounding area offers numerous excursion destinations.

The hotel restaurant offers a culinary blend of international specialties and regional cuisine. Enjoy a rich vitality breakfast buffet, champagne breakfast on Sundays, and an evening buffet with half board (occasionally a 3-course menu). At lunch, a selection of à la carte dishes can be ordered at l'Ami or on the terrace (at a charge). Additionally, the hotel features a cocktail bar, a terrace, and a reading lounge.

In the wellness area, there is also a wellness bistro where you can enjoy delicious smoothies, cocktails, and other beverages.

The Orkeland SPA (approximately 2,700 sqm, open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.) invites you to pure relaxation. The indoor pool (about 12 x 5.5 m, approx. 84°F) with panoramic windows and views of the "land of a thousand mountains" along with the outdoor pool (heatable, about 10.5 x 5 m, approx. 72-75°F) in the Mediterranean pool garden and the sauna area with acacia sauna (about 158-194°F), climate sauna (about 77-131°F), bio-sauna (about 77-131°F), steam bath (about 113°F), laconium (about 131-149°F), salt crystal sauna, Latvian reclining beam sauna (about 185-194°F), natural stone cold pool, and relaxation areas offer the perfect atmosphere for a wellness break. In the outdoor area, the wellness garden with a plunge pool, FREUND's beach garden (seasonal) with relaxation loungers, a sun terrace with panoramic views, and a plane tree park with relaxation islands invite you to linger and convey a light holiday feeling.

Furthermore, the hotel offers a diverse range of massages, such as sports, reflexology, or partner massages, as well as baths, scrubs, pedicures, and manicures, in addition to Ayurvedic and medical wellness treatments, and cosmetic treatments.
