La Clairière - bio & spa hotel, nestled in the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve of the Northern Vosges, is just about 2 km from La Petite Pierre and approximately 50 km from Strasbourg. This hotel is the perfect starting point for extensive hikes and all kinds of physical activities. La Clairière (= the clearing) is surrounded by dense forests and invites you to recharge, deeply inhale the fresh forest air, and actively experience nature in all its facets. Deep in the forest, just under 1.2 miles from La Clairiere, lies the small town of La Petit Pierre, a quaint medieval town with about 600 residents. Charming half-timbered houses line the main street leading directly to the Gothic church of Notre Dame. Behind it, on a rocky spur, stands the Lützelstein Castle from the 12th century, once a significant pass in the Northern Vosges at the junction between Alsace and Lorraine. The town is home to the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve of the Northern Vosges.

Since 2007, the kitchen has been 100% organic, prioritising seasonal, local, and high-quality ingredients. Enjoy a vital organic breakfast buffet with homemade bread and pastries, fresh fruit and freshly squeezed juices, a selection of cheeses, muesli & plant-based milk alternatives, organic eggs, detox and ginger teas, crêpes, and other delicacies. Lunch and dinner feature menus from the organic kitchen with Alsatian culinary art. The first organic-certified restaurant in France. Upon request, vegetarian, vegan, lactose-free, and gluten-free meals are available. The restaurant boasts a large terrace, Café NATURE, a lounge, and an English bar with billiards. Wi-Fi is available in public areas.

The spa area, spanning approximately 1,000 sqm, faces the forest and is distinguished by clean lines and natural materials such as wood, stone, and glass. It features an indoor pool (about 12 x 6 m) and a year-round heated hydrotherapy outdoor pool (8 x 5 m, approx. 30°C) as well as a whirlpool. The sauna area includes a Finnish sauna (80-85°C), bio sauna (55-60°C), tepidarium (37-39°C), steam bath (35-40°C), ice fountain, cold water pool, and relaxation rooms. An infrared cabin is available for a fee.

All treatments in the spa are tailored to your personal needs - whether for stress reduction, detoxification, or revitalization of body and mind, and are based on proven traditional methods such as Ayurveda, naturopathy, and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Treatments include those based on the four-elements theory, full-body massages with oils, Dr. Hauschka facial treatments, reflexology, anti-aging treatments, Rhassoul or Himalayan salt baths, Japanese Yunohanabad, Hot Stone, and Pantai Luar massages.
If not already included in the booked program, Qi Gong, Tai Chi, Yoga, guided relaxation, meditation, Feldenkrais method, and forest bathing can be booked for a fee, subject to availability.

The wellness area is open from 9 a.m. (Mon.-Fri. from 10 a.m.) until 8 p.m., and on Sundays and public holidays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The indoor pool and fitness room are open daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wellness treatments are available daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Access to the spa area and thus the outdoor pool is permitted for persons aged 16 and over. Children and teenagers under 16 years old may only access the indoor pool when accompanied by an adult.

200 km of hiking trails and mountain bike routes surround the hotel. Noteworthy is the Lalique Museum, featuring glass and crystal art objects in Wingen-sur-Moder about 13 km away, Saverne and its Rohan Castle, formerly known as the "little Alsatian Versailles", medieval history can be found in the castles of Fleckenstein, Löwenstein, and the ruins of Hohenburg. The rock dwellings in Graufthal bear witness to the harsh living conditions of the 17th century.
