Kurhaus Erika

The Spa Hotel Erika, established in 1869, is located in close proximity to the upper spa park, just a few minutes' walk from the colonnade. The hotel has its own mineral spring, Erika, which is primarily used for drinking therapy and baths.

Franzensbad (Františkovy Lázně) is the smallest spa town in the Bohemian Spa Triangle and delights with well-maintained forest parks and a beautiful therapy center with classical architecture. With 23 mineral springs (cold sulphurous acidulous waters), healing gas, and Franzensbad peat, the spa town, with its historical monuments and flat spa parks, invites you to relax and take leisurely walks.

The restaurant offers Bohemian and international cuisine. Breakfast buffet, lunch with two 3-course choice menus with salad buffet, and evening buffet. Half board can be chosen as either lunch or dinner. Also available are low-calorie, diabetic, vegetarian, as well as lactose- and gluten-free options (some at an additional charge of approximately €4/day). Lounge and social room with internet corner and regular dance evenings. Sun terrace, 2 lifts. Café with patisserie.

Wellness centre with indoor pool (open Wed-Mon 3-8 p.m., approx. 125 sqm, approx. 28°C), whirlpool, fitness room. For a fee: sauna with mineral water pool, infrared sauna, salt cave, foot care, hairdresser & beauty treatments.

The therapy department (Mon-Sat, approx. 7 a.m.-3 p.m.) offers comprehensive medical care by an experienced team of doctors and therapists, along with a 24-hour nursing service. State-of-the-art treatment methods are used, complemented by natural remedies such as mineral water, medicinal gas, and peat. Bath treatments include mineral, carbon dioxide, pearl, aroma, and whirlpool baths. A wide range of massages is available, including underwater, reflex, foot reflexology, Thai, Shiatsu, and hot stone massages. The services are enhanced with inhalations, drinking therapies, and medicinal gas injections. Additionally, paraffin, mud, and peat packs are used. In the field of physical therapy, electrotherapy, laser therapy, cryotherapy, and magnetic field therapy are applied. Manual and machine lymphatic drainage is also offered to promote mobility and well-being, along with water and group gymnastics.

The nature reserve SOOS, located about 6km from Franzensbad and often referred to as the "Czech Yellowstone", is a marshland area where mineral springs and pure CO₂ gas emerge from so-called mofettes. A 1.2 km educational trail winds through the former lake bed, offering a vivid impression of this unique landscape. Cycling tours, for example to Třebeň or Salingburg (bicycle rental available at the hotel from April to October), are also popular. Additionally, the cultural life of the spa town is enriched by regular therapy concerts and sociable dance evenings. Throughout the year, various seasonal festivals, music events, and small markets take place, especially during the summer months. The extensive parks also invite for walks and Nordic walking, where historic buildings, pavilions, and mineral springs can be discovered.
