‘Decent Ayurveda in a tired setting’ Original review
Resort needs a facelift. Two people I know had rooms with roof leaks and one person got rained on in their treatment room. Really loud temple with lots of tuck-tucks and horns. Noise starts at 5:30 am and goes pretty much all day. No beach close by for walking or swimming. You can hike to one decent beach in front of a different resort, but evidently not uncommon for people to break arms, legs or just get hurt because of the slippery rocks getting there. There was also an intermittent sewage smell for rooms near front wall of the resort as sewage overflows there, especially when it rains. This was my 10th visit to India and of the 7 places I’ve stayed, this was by far the least nice place I’ve been. Speaking with some, they love this place for the easily accessible shopping and lots of nearby sites. I will say staff was helpful and the chef was a rock star. Also met great fellow travelers with whom I will remain in touch. show more

- Hotel in general
- A very basic 1-2-star place in terrible need of maintenance. Treatment rooms are also very basic - no altars, candles or incense. Also, synchronized 2-person massage is done with only one person.
-
- Service and hospitality
- Chef was so accommodating to dietary restrictions, which I really appreciated. He was an absolute delight. Front staff were totally unhelpful when I asked if a room change was possible. I paid for an “ocean view” and instead got a nasty mold covered wall as my scenery. They absolutely refused any change. A week later, I contacted SpaDreams for help and suddenly a room became available. Unfortunately, that room was near the front and reeked of sewage smell. Ultimately decided an ugly wall was preferable to such a putrid smell. Doctors and others were very kind and helpful.

- Cuisine
- Again, a great chef who went out of his was to accommodate dietary restrictions!
-
- Spa, treatment and pool area
- Pool was nice and deck very inviting. But treatment rooms were stark - dark and basic, no altar, no candles or incense
-
- Treatments and programmes
- Most places do 2-person synchronized massage as well as other 2-person treatments. Here, massage is done by one person, so it goes for about an hour and 10 minutes, making the remaining 2 treatments really short. For example, oil bath treatment ended up being 18-20 minutes as a result.

- Nikkis Nest is the most wonderful place to go for the full Ayurvedic and Yoga experience . I was greeted at the airport by a member of the team and it was a 30 minute drive to paradise. My room was perfect , spotlessly clean and was cleaned every day during my stay . I had a sun lounger on my terrace and a hammock to chill out in and take in the beautiful sea view . The food was amazing , chef Raj has created the most tasty diverse menu and each meal was a treat. The treatments .. just wow , every treatment was pure bliss and I had the same lovely therapist for my entire stay which I think is brilliant. The yoga floor is nestled amongst the trees with the most beautiful sea view . The yoga teachers are superb and the practice is just wonderful . There are 3 classes on offer in the morning and one in the evening in addition to two daily mediation classes . Definitely the best yoga setting I've ever experienced . The beach is stunning , and reached by steps down from the main restaurant .There are sun loungers and umbrellas and the lifeguards are always there. There is also a gorgeous pool up on a roof terrace with loungers and umbrellas. . The staff are just wonderful , kind and thoughtful . The lovely Nikki and her mum Maria own and run this family business, and their dedication and care make it a 5 star experience Expect to feel fully rejuvenated !! I cannot wait to return .
