The innovative treatment program was developed in collaboration with the Jessenius Faculty of Medicine in Martin, Comenius University in Bratislava, the Biomedical Center Martin, and the Slovak Parkinson's Society in Slovakia. It focuses on balneology, physiotherapy, sensory stimulation, and the nutraceutical "Brain Food" diet – based on the latest findings on Parkinson's disease. The nutraceutical module is based on a high-fiber diet and the principles of the "Brain Food" or CNS diet. The aim of this diet is to optimize the brain's energy balance, suppress potential nerve inflammation and oxidative stress, thereby eliminating factors that significantly contribute to premature brain aging and neurodegeneration. For patients affected by neurodegenerative CNS diseases, this diet can help slow down neurodegeneration, especially in the early stages of these diseases.

The world-famous Health Spa Piestany, renowned for its healing springs and sulphurous medicinal mud, has been a leading European spa for over 100 years, offering therapy treatments at the highest medical level. It is located in the picturesque Vah Valley in southwest Slovakia, just 80 km from Bratislava and 140 km from Vienna.
Along the left bank of the Vah River, the spa island (accessible via bridges) is nestled amidst greenery with its thermal springs, spa hotels, and well-maintained parks. The beautiful spa park invites you to take extended walks. Relax and rejuvenate on the sun terraces of the spa hotels or at bandstand concerts during the summer season.

You can expect 5 restaurants with Slovak and international cuisine, breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner buffet (stay à la carte), Thursday theme dinners. Also reduction, diabetic, separate, gentle, and vegetarian diets.

Free Time

An interesting excursion destination besides the capital Bratislava, which was the coronation site of 19 Hungarian kings, is the small Slovak 'Rome', the city of Trnava (approx. 35 km), which, like Nitra (approx. 55 km), is known for its magnificent sacred architecture and is one of the oldest cities in Slovakia.
Escape modern times and visit the ceramic factory in the wine town of Modra (approx. 58 km), the famous glass factory in Valasska Bela (approx. 84 km). The romantic Bojnice Castle (approx. 90 km) from the 11th century in the style of medieval French castles, the Gothic monuments of the cities Kezmarok (approx. 270 km), Levoca (approx. 280 km) with the world's largest Gothic altar, and Spis Castle (approx. 300 km), the largest in Central Europe.

Medically noticeably positive result after 3 weeks of spa therapy in a pleasantly friendly atmosphere in the spa, restaurant and hotel area, with some unnecessary, because easy to improve, weak points, for example. Cleanliness (public pool, spa tub area, changing rooms) and refreshment of the drinks, (as it is often called "ne mame".) The three, interconnecting Danubius hotels (different categories) are located on the so-called spa island, on foot pleasant city close. We will be back next spring.

Hotel

We had booked in the section Esplanade 4 * (there are also Palace, Splendid and Grand) comfort rooms and received, with our Danubius silver card free upgrade for premium rooms. Very pleasant stay with multiple linen change per week, bathrobe service and an infinite number of towels in and for all spa and sauna visits (of course in ALLEN and hotel categories) Entertainment possibilities, seasonal, greatly reduced. Unfortunately, the opening hours of sauna and pool area, because of lack of lifeguard, the statement. Over all the years of our visits, quality human resource management has rarely been a strength of those in charge and leaders. During our stay many international guests from Germany, Israel and Arabian states were represented .... always a good opportunity to interesting meetings (also among each other)

Treatments

Applications see above. Regular additional programs for body and mind. In-house entertainment programs probably little in demand. A fixed program for decades is a duo (violin / piano) with really outstanding and classical concert quality with an international repertoire covering all genres.

Board type

Price / performance ratio very good ... ... with daily freshly grilled fish (alternately probably just under 10 div.Arten) varied vegetables and salads, 2 soups, a lot of diverse fruit, breads and pastries, dressing grains (including mill) dried fruit, cereal ... and and. .. In addition to the 4 base meats beef, pork, turkey, chicken also time by time game, goose, duck. Possibly. Selection, but certainly the preparation was clearly dependent on the kitchen team "on duty". Here, too, there was a lack of personnel management, as there were probably bottlenecks in the workforce. Hand hygiene is offered in the restaurant entrance area but disregarded about 95% ..... here must be improved with courage to coercion by the line ..... even if the customer, it is his duty to adapt socially acceptable. ..in the international cruise this works well. Also, a more hygienic solution for the cup dispensers must be provided at the water drinking points in the house. 10 min. Waiting for the next treatment and watching the various withdrawal attempts ... is like unappetizing "hidden camera"

Wellness area

In the spa area very good organization in time planning (it is received on customer requests) and expiration. Friendly and patient service staff in dealing with the international guests and their personal sensitivities (also from other cultures) As mentioned, a careful tub cleaning AFTER each use, depending on the commitment of the staff, ... and this is always lacking probably some .... despite regular inspections of the Spaleitung. The example of a towel I used in a locker room of the Dept. of Water Rehabilitation and not disposed of in the laundry tub is hopefully not representative. It was still there two days later, next to an already found tissue. In the public pool are unpleasant, (especially in the passage from the interior to the outdoor pool) the grease and dirt edges on. The strongly reduced opening times of the pool-sauna area I already mentioned. The noticeably different qualifications in individual application areas is also a negative - Standard massage and stimulation massage too often only wellness, clear offers to make, even if no masseur question comes, I understood only too late. - Wasserschwabilation probably a job for "stopgap" therefore (almost) without variety ... associated with acoustic problems for many understanding by heruntergeleierte texts.
