This study compares the treatment of knee osteoarthritis with either Ayurvedic or conventional medicine. In this study, participants received either Ayurvedic medicine-based treatment or conventional treatment for 12 weeks. The participants who received Ayurvedic treatment reported greater improvements in their symptoms and quality of life than the participants who received conventional treatment. These effects persisted after treatment, even for up to 12 months. This study suggests that Ayurveda could be a useful additional treatment method in conjunction with conventional treatment.
