The Ayurvedic therapist Dr. rer. nat. Gianni Alampi tested the effectiveness of Ayurvedic massages and forehead casting (dhara) in his study. The aim was to test their medical applications and to use Ayurvedic therapy as an alternative healing method.
To this end, 106 people between the ages of 26 and 88 took part and were questioned on the day of treatment, the following day and after more than two days about the effect and duration of the massages. The results are impressive, with 97.2% reporting relaxation on the day of treatment and 93.3% reporting improved mobility after the Ayurvedic massage. 82.6% of people were pleased with their improved sleep and the therapy had a pain-reducing effect on 66.2%. The next day, the values were only around 20-30% lower. Two or more days after the treatment, 17.6-39.4% of the patients still confirmed an after-effect of the treatment. The forehead casting brought about an even greater reduction in pain and a longer-lasting improvement in sleep quality.
With an increasing number of Ayurvedic massages and forehead effusions, more and more patients were able to reduce or completely dispense with other therapies (medication, physiotherapy, acupuncture).
