Hotel Ein Gedi in Detail

Your Hotel

☀ Ein Gedi Hotel is surrounded by green parkland. Transfers to Ein Bokek, approx. 40 km, on request at hotel or by bus.

Location & Surroundings

A Gedi lies in an impressive landscape on the edge of the Judean Desert with views over the Dead Sea and the Moab Mountains. With one of the driest, clearest and most oxygenated climates in the world, Ein Gedi offers a fascinating encounter of elements, a breathtaking blend of nature, history, archaeology and climatic therapy. The region is a paradise for desert hikers and safaris with desert vehicles. The Kibbutz Ein Gedi was founded in 1956 on the site of the biblical Ein Gedi. Nearby are the remains of an ancient synagogue, the Herod fortress of Massada and the caves of Qumran, where the 2000 year old Dead Sea Scrolls were found. A Gedi consists of Kibbutz, Dead Sea Health Spa, hotel with spa and conference centre. The kibbutz also maintains date plantations and there is bottled mineral spring water from its own spring. The climatic conditions - dry and hot in summer and mild with little rainfall in winter - are ideal for the world famous Botanical Garden. A great variety of cacti, succulents and other unique plants thrive here. There are many wild and interesting bird species. In addition, ibex and Klippschliefer jump around with little shy.

Air-conditioned interior with pools with natural sulfur mineral springs, some seperated for men and women. The water is approximately 38 degrees, the temperature recommended by doctors. There are showers, lockers, locker rooms and a self-service restaurant. Outside are the unique therapeutic black mineral mud, pool (fresh water, seasonal), a natural solarium, massage center and bathing beach (shuttle). In the water, you experience a unique feeling - "let yourself go carefree". You can cover yourself with the black mineral mud that has been known for centuries for its cosmetic and healing properties. ‘relaxing’ Translated by Google

The hotel got bigger, we were there 30 years ago. We were to the health of the Dead Sea. Everything was in good order for us. show more

    • Hotel in general
New beautiful rooms, clean service, the location is special, you are in the desert and quite far from the nearest town. The plant is botanically beautiful.
    • Service and hospitality
It is only English spoken, otherwise the staff is very friendly. The room was always cooked clean.
    • Cuisine
There is only half board, but you have the possibility in the lobby or in the spa center to buy food. In the restaurant they have made great progress unlike our last visit (1986). The buffet in the morning and in the evening is plentiful and very tasty set and presented clean.
    • Spa, treatment and pool area
There is a freshwater pool in the hotel and in the center. Also in both places are spa areas, with pools of salt water from the Dead Sea. There is a sulfur bath in the spa center. Massage options are available.
    • Treatments and programmes
As already described, we were in Ein Gedi to enjoy the Dead Sea. The rest of the program did not interest us.

My trip was very well done as a mix with excursions I organized from the hotel and myself, along with staying at the Kibutz Hotel and Spa. Season seems ideal for the area / climate. show more

    • Hotel in general
The standard rooms a bit primitive - seem to be from the 60s, the Kibutz founding years. Lobby under renovation

‘Since 1985 we have only driven to En Bokek on the Dead Sea. A Gedi was a surprising gain.’ Translated by Google

The transfer from the airport to the hotel we found very exhausting, because of the long wait (2 hours!). For the price this is not acceptable! Return transfer in a car taxi for 5 persons + tons of luggage (but 4-seater)? !!! show more

    • Hotel in general
After booking we had booked a desert room (picture in the brochure), but had a standard "garden room" received. We really enjoyed it on the grounds except for the zoo ... Can you influence the kibbutz's management in this regard ... especially the two crocodiles and a coon-like animal are really very sad there without any green vegetation, unlike the usual lush green of the kibbutz. Other guests noticed this neglect of the zoo.
    • Spa, treatment and pool area
The beach was very good, unfortunately, the first shuttle bus only at 9:00 in the morning.
