Hotel Ein Gedi in detail

Your Vacation Resort

Ein Gedi is located in an impressive landscape on the edge of the Judean desert with a wonderful view on the Dead Sea and on the Moab Mountains. With one of the most dry, clear and oxygenated climates in the entire world Ein Gedi offers a fascinating meeting with the elements, a breath taking mixture of nature, history, archeology and climate therapy. The region is a true paradise for desert walkers and safaris with desert cars.

The kibbutz in Ein Gedi has been grounded in 1956 in the place of the biblical Ein Gedi. In its surroundings there are the remains of the old synagogue the Herod the Great stronghold Massada. Also there are the caves of Qumran, where the 2000 year old Dead Sea scrolls have been found

Ein Gedi consists of kibbutz, a health Spa,and the conference centre by the Dead Sea, Resort Hotel with new Spa. The kibbutz also maintains date plantations and there are bottles filled with mineral spring water from the hotel-owned spring.

The special climatic conditions – in the summer it is dry and in the winter it is hot and mild with some few rainfalls – are ideal for the Botanical garden, which became famous all over the world. A wonderful and huge diversity of cactus, succulent and more unique plants (sub tropic and tropic) blossom here. There is also a small animal garden and many living in the wild, interesting kinds of birds such as for example the kingfisher, the emerald- like greenish bee-eaters, the humming birds related, dazzling sun birds; in the season also migratory birds, because of the fact that Ein Gedi lies directly on the way from the European summer accommodation to Africa. In addition, the ibex and dassie animals jump here freely and without much shyness around – in the kibbutz as well as in the neighbouring integral natural reserve and to the joy of our guests.

This is the temperature recommended by our medical staff for balneology/ balneo therapy. There are also showers, lockers, changing rooms, a self-service restaurant and a huge hall with sunbeds for relaxation. In the outdoor area you will find the unique therapeutic dark mineral mud, a fresh water swimming pool (depending on the season), a natural sun solarium, a massage centre as well as a bathing beach. Ein Bokek is ca. 40km from the German Medical Centre (GMC) away, transfer on request payable on arrival or comfortably by bus ca. 20 ILS (ca. € 5) per direction. The GMC offers climate cure care with medical consultation - ideal for skin diseases such as for example atopic dermatitis and psoriasis as well as rheumatic and joint pains. More details on request via SpaDreams.

There is a regular shuttle to the Ein Gdi Spa (ca. 5 km away), to the cure centre by the coast of the Dead Sea with a private beach and a natural solarium.

In the water you will experience a unique feeling of "letting yourself carelessly float". • Hotel in general
After booking we had booked a desert room (picture in the brochure), but had a standard "garden room" received. We really enjoyed it on the grounds except for the zoo ... Can you influence the kibbutz's management in this regard ... especially the two crocodiles and a coon-like animal are really very sad there without any green vegetation, unlike the usual lush green of the kibbutz. Other guests noticed this neglect of the zoo.
    • Spa, treatment and pool area
The beach was very good, unfortunately, the first shuttle bus only at 9:00 in the morning.

    • Hotel in general
We had a Deluxe Room Plus. The additional costs are worthwhile, because you free spa area can be used from the Dead Sea daily with heated water.
    • Service and hospitality
The staff seemed a bit cool, but if you need help, helped you immediately.
    • Cuisine
The hotel offers the richest and most delicious breakfast we had during our entire trip had Israel.
    • Spa, treatment and pool area
The spa area is too small at full occupancy. Go back in time! It is to float in the Dead Sea fantastically beautiful in the heated seawater. You have dressed in the sauna and hammam. Some Jewish women even a T-shirt and short skirt, if you went into the water. Those are the local Gepflegheiten.
    • Treatments and programmes
Located in a Kibutz on a ridge. In Kibbutz there is a supermarket. The whole area is fenced and guarded. It feels safe. Außenrum is beautiful nature. The entire Kibutz is a botanical garden and there is free running ibex no fear of people have.
